I have just spent the last hour and a bit trying to find and get someone to come and pick up a stray dog I found in our yard.

Went out to put some rubbish in the bin, and here he was curled up and shaking. Wasn't keen on touching him (small dogs scare me LOL) And living on a very busy road, I assumed he'd been hit by a car.

The phone told me it was 9:10 (stupid thing, the computer knows when daylight savings ends, why can't it) Rang AWL, no one there. Rang the Council, went through to their after hours bit, and it hung up! Rang RSPCA, no, you have to ring the council x( So they gave me an after hours number, the same bloody one! 3 tries and I finally get through to someone, and they said they don't pick up animals on a public holiday, I'd have to ring the police. How stupid is that, like they don't have enough to deal with, without playing pound as well.

So I mentioned it was probably injured, she then put me through to the RSPCA. They said they would get the ambulance to come and get him, but it would probably be a few hours till they could. I'd have to lock him up somewhere.Great...

Armed with dog food, cat food and sausages, I go out to coax him into the garage. As soon as he saw the food he came at me like a savage, wagging his tail. No sooner had I got him into the garage, and the RSPCA lady turned up. And was quite shitty to find that there was nothing wrong with him  .

Oh well, he's safe now and is better off going with them, than wandering around busy roads.
