Our backyard is fully fenced but the gate between the front of the garage & the front of the house is only about 4ft high & as Maggie is a terrier & from memory from childhood i know they can jump a 6ft fence so we are putting a second gate at the back of the garage to the back of the house in the hope it will keep Maggie in a bit better now , she has'nt even looked like trying to jump the side gate but we are always on tenderhooks when she's up the side & we can't see her & the gas & electic men have to come in that gate to read meters so we also thought by having the taller gate at back of house she can't get out passed them. noone else comes in the side gate because there is just no need so I'm sure you will all agree:D that we are better to be sure then to be sorry. am i right?;)

I don't think you're over doing it. My aunty's dog is an Australian silky terrier. She jumps four foot fences like they aren't even there!

We used to have a foxie that could climb like a cat, he was that hard to keep in it wasn,t funny, so no you are not over doing it you are just being responsible, pity there is not more people like you.
