Hi everyone,

Some of you have been following the progress of my daughters weddings in October this year. She got her bridesmaids together last week to decide on their dresses. As Erin's wedding dress is pink and cream, a careful match has to be made of the bridesmaids dresses. They will be matched exactly to the pink flowers scattered on her wedding dress.

Erin trying on her wedding dress (she is having a cream cathedral length veil).

After trying on lots of dresses,

the girls decided that strapless was not the way to go..

http://www.pamelajgallery.com.au/photos/erinwd5.jpg

..and have chosen this style with straps is the most flattering and comfortable for all the girls (ignore the :eww: sample colours a bit of a clash with the pink dress).

Funny thing I just noticed (must be the fluorescent lighting) you can't see any pink on the bodice or top layer of the skirt (looks plain cream with no hint of pink) ..but in these photo's you can quite clearly. Obviously must be so faintly pink and only the camera has picked it up. Will be good to see the dress in daylight.

What a beautiful dress Erin has picked and I think she is spot on with the bridesmaid's dresses as well. It looks like it's going to be a lovely wedding.

Now what is the Mother of the Bride going to wear???

Stunning bride and stunning dress, should be a truely magical wedding...

How is everything else coming along? Cars, cake, reception, photographer, honeymoon, men's attire, church etc...

I too love that the girls got dresses with straps...

I love the little roses on Erin's dress...yep it does just look cream on the bust and the dress you can see the pale pink through it, but outside it will look different...

Pam your dress looks very nice, you could wear afterwards as well...what colour shoes and bag will you get...October should be a lovely month for a wedding...

Pam, I think taking your daughter to try wedding dresses must be a huge, weepy 'my baby is growing up moment' (hehe, I get like that just putting away clothes Hugo has grown out of).

Erin looks beautiful! Have the girls decided on a colour they will wear (or are they going different colours? I've seen that at a wedding and it can look really effective)

Thanks so much girls ..I get all proud reading all your compliments as you could imagine!

Patricia: I won't be wearing a hat as I just don't suit hats. Instead of a traditional corsage, Erin is getting me a little one that can be tied around my wrist with ribbon to match my dress.

I'll take the dress with me when I go shoe/bag shopping - not sure if matching aqua would be over kill, otherwise a pale gold/beige.

Alexa: Pretty much everything is booked and organised. We haven't booked the cars yet, was thinking Limo's, don't know how much it would cost to hire a classic old car ..Erin would LOVE a horse and carriage LOL. As Erin has picked and organised the wedding with Gav just nodding his head (happy wife happy life), she has let him choose the honeymoon - and he has picked Tangalooma. (http://www.tangalooma.com)

Callum: That is such an appropriate comment - if you knew Erin you couldn't get a more girly girl. Her dress is so Erin, and she does look like Cinderella!

Naomi: We have matched the bridesmaids dresses to the flowers on Erin's dress.

That is the wrong bridesmaid dress in the photo, but will give you the overall look. The lady had a fabric book and we were able to match the dresses exactly! The dresses have been ordered and will be ready in May.

Ohh ...I forgot to tell you she is having her 6 year old cousin, Jessica, as a flower girl! Got to have someone to scatter the rose petals to complete the fairytale wedding!

I'm making an album with all these pre-wedding photo's and just thought I'll print out this thread and add it to her book :) (so say nice things ok :P )

Pam

I love that hot pink, it will go so well with her dress...

Love the comment, happy wife, happy life...very cute...where is Tangalooma?

She will make a truely stunning bride...

Just an idea and when the time gets closer, I would ring the local paper and see if they are interested in coming and taking some photos, in my local paper we have a small section that shows photos of people's recent weddings...nice to have for say 50 years from now etc...even the big papers do photos, all the Sydney papaers have a whole page, maybe you have to send in photos, might be an idea to ask??? Just a thought.

I like the corsage idea, sorry I am not a big hat wearer either...look forward to seeing and hearing more of this special upcoming event...

I think the photos in the paper are usually submitted by the photographer ( as a form of advertising), but I have been known to be wrong:D .

My mum and dad went to Tangalooma for there honeymoon ( a long time ago), they celebrated there 40th anniversary last September, so that must be a good omen.

Can't wait to see the bridesmaids dresses Pam, thanks for sharing.

Pam, your daughter and her dress are just gorgeous! You must be such a proud mum!!

BTW, I love your daughter's name, Erin. That's one of the name's I picked out for my daughter, but she ended up with another of my favourite's, Renaye.

Can't wait to see your dress on you, though. I love that as well.

Pam

Patricia, that's Sam, Erin's best friend and work collegue. Her other bridesmaid is Sandy, a girlfriend from school, and Annette, Gav's sister is Maid of Honour.

So who was right LOL ?

Thanks Jens, I love her name too :D

Ooohhhh, Erin's dress is lovely and I really like the highlights of pink as it's different and very unusual. Erin is going to be a gorgeous bride!!! :)

I think the dresses the girls have chosen are complimentary to her style. What colour pink did they choose in the end?

I really love your dress style. You're going to be a very glamorous mother of the bride :) Look forward to seeing photos of the big day!!!
