People, People if you love a good, gripping, slightly off beat and definately, insanely off the wall book. This is it.
Frankenstein Prodigal Son is the first in a trilogy written by Dean Koontz and assorted co-authors that really grips you from the word go.
Dean Koontz powerfull remaking of the Frankenstein ledgend with a few twists and turns has you turning the pages and eagerly awaiting the outcome and the next book. Here's a little bit of the blurb to get your pulses going:

Every city has secrets. But none as terrible as this. His name is Deucalion, a tattooed man of mysterious origin, a sleight of reality artist who's travelled the centuries with a secret worse than death. He arrives as a serial killer stalks the streets, a killer who carefully selecs his victims for the humanity that is missing in himself. Detective Carson O'Connor is cool, cynical and every bit as tough as she looks. Her partner Michael Maddison would back her up all the way to hell itself- and that is just where this case ends up. For the no nonsense O'Conner is suddenly talking about an ages old conspiacy, a near immortal race or beings, and killers that are more- and less - than human. For their quarry isn't merely a homicidal maniac, but his dranged maker.:argh:

I read most of the 469 pages in about 2 nights and couldn't put it down.
The fleshing out of the characters, so you really know who they are and exactly what they are doing and the twisting of the plot so that as soon as you think you've figured out what they should so, it changes and your left thinking NO WAY, and they way that he ends the book leaving you panting for more. Sheer thriller brilliance. I have read every one of Dean Koontz books and by far this series is his best work yet.

The book Prodigal Son is in all public libraries now and is available at most good bookstores in normal sized paper back for about $15. I picked mine up at a second hand store for $3 so keep your eyes open at the shops girls.

This is only the first book and let me tell you the second book Frankenstein City of Night is just as fantastic and all the more thrilling and sit on the edge of your seat exciting, maybe more about that one another time hey.

I loved this book so much that I actually ordered the second in the series from a book store in Germany (it wasn't available in Aust at that time) and paid top dollar because I had to know what was happening in the story.

So happy reading ladies and you won't be disappointed if you give this book a chance.

Cheers for now
