Came across this site in my travels, and thought it was interesting.
Freecycle (http://freecycle.org/) They seem to have groups for all major parts of Australia.
Basicaly, its a classified service for you area. People join up and post their unwanted stuff for free. Not sure what you could get for free, you never know I guess. But to get rid of your unwanted stuff would be handy.

Thanks Leigh. I will go and have a look.
We have free papers delivered in this area and you can advertise free if you're giving things away. Also, if you have found an animal, they run the ad. for free too. I think it's a great service.
I just checked it out. Looks really good. The reason behind it is great. It's recycling with a difference.

I joined yesterday and it is FANTASTIC. I am a major bargain hunter and consequently i have a heap of stuff that I have loved when I got it but it has fallen outta favour now. I just listed some stuff and it went as fast as flash lightning. I think it's the best site after all for women.:D .
Cheers

I joined this the other day and have received a few emails about things...I wish I had known about it years ago when I needed stuff after I just moved here...would have saved me a fortune!

Yeah I've been a member of the 'Beenleigh' freecycle team (QLD) for a while and I still get emails all the time from people giving away stuff. I'm living in Melb at the moment and there's no freecycle for my suburb but if it's not in your area then you can start one up! I haven't bothered as not planning on staying long but it's a great way of getting rid of stuff and picking-up stuff.:)
