Do you do anything special for valentine's day?

We have never 'celebrated' it (for want of a better word). In fact if anything, we are less likely to go out for dinner or do something romantic because it IS valentine's day.

But I realise some people do use it as a reason to buy gifts or cards and go out for dinner etc.

One year, one of our 'more mature' neighbours bought a huge teddy bear for her partner (think 1.5metres tall) and left it in their parking spot for him to find when he came home from work. We were in an apartment building and their parking space was next to ours, and we happened to come home before he did and saw it sitting there. I said to DH, "What would you do if I did that for you for Valentine's Day" and he said, "I'd turn around and drive away and never come back" :jump:

We do tend to do 'nice' things throughout the year, and DH buys me flowers and gifts 'just because' so it's not like I'm missing out in the romance stakes. We just don't like to celebrate Valentine's Day in particular.

We are pretty much the same Naomi - we have never really celebrated it either.

I suppose we did when we first got together.

But I'd much prefer to have lots of romantic days, than have to wait once a year.

that is one night of the year I always seem to get smashed...well for the past 3 anyway (while being single) maybe cause I am with my single girlfriends and we all feel sorry for each other...but being a Tuesday night might not do anything...maybe we will go and see Casanova at the movies?

This being our first Valentines Day together, I was hoping we could do something special.....

But seeing as how my bf will be in Sydney and I will be up here I'm not sure what we'll end up doing.

We don't celebrate Valentines Day either, my birthday is 10 days later and hubby's is about 10 days after mine so we do something then instead. I can't stand the commercialization( is that a word?)of it.

It depends if I want something at the time LMAO

I have gotten a few kittens for Valentines Day, not for Vday, but because I wanted one and it's a good way to win him over LOL. So then he has to get a present too. Or if he wanted a new toy...

Usually tho, we don't do much. I told him not to bother with flowers, not mad keen on them, just think they are a waste of money. A suprise would be nice, but I too won't hold my breath LOL.

Our wedding anniversary is Feb 1 - so we usually do something special then. I don't see the point in celebrating Valentine's Day too. DH teases me about it, but then, he never organises for us to do anything... ;)

I used to do a $20 limit with my partner - you see how creative you can be with $20 - no more no less - it made it more enjoyable and we werent wasting a lot of money as we were really putting a lot of thought into what we were buying each other.

I forgot it was coming up. I don't think we do anything either... not that I remember. We use to do something sweet when we lived in different states and we were still in the honeymoon period. I better suss him out anyway just in case... I always forget our anniversary of when we met so I better not disappoint if he's planning something for Valentines Day :)

Gra's birthday is the 9th. Hard enough trying to think of something for his birthday!

I'd like a whizz bang fancy embroidery sewing machine :Hehe:

Unless Erin cancels her wedding - that ain't going to happen LOL

Awwww, Gav rang me the other day, as he wanted the phone number of a florist in the shopping centre where Erin works. He's going to send her pink roses :)
