Hi Rose

Nice to meet you!! You sound very busy with those teens! My name is Sheree, I'm 22 with no kids, but I have an OH and one cat. We are looking at getting another kitty soon. Do you own any pets? How do you like Adelaide?? I have been a couple times, it is quite nice IMO.

Hi Rose.

I guess I don't really fit in very well here. I'm 13, male, with two cats, two dogs, a dad, a sister and a whole lot of Nintendo games.

Hi All,
First id like to say a BIG THANX, for the wonderful welcome. ok in addition to our already big family we do have pets, we have 2 dogs, Buffy & Zander, a little turtle called Fred, which the kids have had for years, it was the boys, but has now been handed down to Tiahna. And yes there is a huge age gap, one day i just woke up said to my DH "i want another baby", of course he first reaction was STUNNED, next he said "but our boys have nearly all grown up and it wont be long before they leave home" he thought it was just a phase i was going through and thats how we ended up with our dogs, he bought me 1 each xmas, thinking it would take my mind off wanting another baby, in the 2 1/2yrs of trying he kept asking questions, like "what if we have another boy?" but that didnt bother me either, my motherly hormones had kicked in, and that was that, now we have the most gorgeous little princess, she looks like shirley temple, and is even a little drama queen, Tiahna has completed & enriched our family, the boys absolutely adore & spoil her. As for liking Adelaide, yes i do like it here, it is pretty laid back, not as hectic and fast paced as other cities, & you can never get lost in our city, cos its soo small. And Barcode i used to live in WA, loved it, i had my first son Jamie at Subiaco Hosp, the only downfall for WA is, it is too far away from everywhere else, its like the other side of the world, lol. Sorry i have sorta written a book here, and probably bored everyone to tears, :tyeo: Anyway again i would just like to say THANK YOU.

Not boring at all Rose :)

I think my hubby would beat me silly if I woke up one day and told him that :P I did think I wanted another, but the urge has passed, You scare me now, thinking it may come back LOL. Tiahna sounds like a little cutie, cheeky too I bet. Do all your boys still live at home?

What sort of dogs are Buffy and Zander?

Hi Alex,
Andy (DH) got Zander for me first, i happen to be in the shopping centre when i spotted him, now the petshop told us he was a white maltese/shih-tzu, and he looked like one as a pup, but when he got to about 3 mths old, he didnt like the ones in the book, so we went back to petshop with him and demanded to find out what he was, it turned out there had been a mistake with the breeder, and the bitch(mother dog) had got out of her breeding area and did the breeder's friends dog, which in turn was chihuahua, so he is maltese/shih-tzu/chihuahua, the petshop gave us half our money back, and said if we wanted to exchange him we could, but how can u give up a dog you have had for 3 mths already? Anyway the next xmas, i was again shopping and spotted Buffy, (in a different petshop this time), and i fell in love with her, she is a pure black pomeranian. As you might notice their names are from the show Buffy the vampire slayer, DH was hooked on the show and boy do the names suit their personalities. As for all our boys, Jamie left home when he was 19yrs old, sometimes i wonder if he has left as he is here quite abit, we have all the rest still at home. And i too did have the urge for another baby a couple of times before the last eps, i think the main problem i couldnt get it out of my system the last time was everyone around me was either pg or had just had babies, and i couldnt get rid of the clucky feeling, so stay away from pg women as it can be catching, :P . I know for a fact I WILL NOT be ever telling my DH i want another baby, as i truly forgot how exhausting (mentally & physically)the first 3-4yrs were. :D

Hi Rose

Your pets sound just adorable!! You are very lucky! I don't have any dogs (yet) but would love a staffy. I also love their names - I really like the name Zander.

I have never had a baby and not sure if we are going to or not (I would rather be married first). I've had many nightmares and dreams about finding myself with a bump and I never knew I was pregnant! It was very scary. Othertimes I've had the baby and it was pain free (yeah like that's going to happen LOL) ;) I have seen my friends get clucky tho so I may have to stay away from them in the future!!!! LMAO

I never wanted kids LOL. I hated them. My brother and sister are much younger than me. So I was old enough to help with all the baby stuff when I was home. I swore blind I would never have any LOLOL.
Everyone says it, but it is true, it's different when they are your own. I am still not mad keen on other peoples kids LOL.
Cluckiness is catching Monty, so you should watch out!

Personally I find it hard to tolerate babies but that's just my nature. :tyeo: :help:

I'm still not mad on kids a) because you can't be self centred anymore you have to be all those things that I'm not (yet)! (sorry if that sounds bad but I know I'm self centred) b) lots of kids I know/see are monsters (I know there are some angels out there, not sure where tho) and c) i still can't get past the pain thing even tho everyone says to me 'the pain is nothing - it is all worth it in the end'.. I guess I can't see the big picture?? Anyway i shush now :2c: LOL :P

LOL Monty be all those things that I'm not (yet)! For me, this didn't happen until after Hugo actually arrived.

Monsters - well, a lot of it is in the parenting (at the risk of being flamed) (and of course, from my lofty position of having a 6 month old who has yet to start asserting his independence).

And the pain .... well, I know everyone concentrates on the pain of labour, but to be honest, labour is over so quickly in the scheme of things. For me the pain is the ongoing sleep deprivation (Hugo isn't a great sleeper). Definitely the first few weeks of parenthood are way harder than labour. That said, I wouldn't swap him for the world and for me, it really is worth it.
