I'm home alone this week (DH is at a uni thing - he'll be back tomorrow night).
Hugo had a bit of a yuck day sleep-wise and I ended up putting him to bed at about 6.15 (he usually goes down around 7ish). So he woke up crying at 7pm and I resettled him. Then he woke up SCREAMING at 7.30 - really screaming like he was in terrible pain. It was really quite scary and stressful. I did the external check for bites, rashes blah blah and he seemed fine. He was much happier once I picked him up. I put him in the rocker and he was okay, but screamed as soon as I left his line of vision. He eventually settled down so I put him back to bed and he did the *screaming* thing again. So I got him up again and kept him with me, took his temperature, checked him all over again. Nothing.
So I put him in the rocker, and a few minutes later he did the biggest, smelliest poo. It was truly revolting (and the smell seems to be lingering). I changed his nappy and he was happy as larry. I put him to bed and he rolled over and closed his eyes without a sound.
But it was actually really distressing - I have never heard him cry like that before (he's not a big crier usually anyway). And I am so exhausted now. My poor boy.
