I am so happy to say that my Niece's best friend, Michelle Steele, has made the Winter Olympics!! (Never for a minute doubted she would!! :winner: ) She competes in the Luge. Michelle is only a young lass, turning 20 next month. She has lived all her live at the ocean (Bundaberg) and until a couple of years ago hadn't even seen the snow! :Hehe:

I hope for those who watch the Olympics, you give her an extra special cheer when she competes!!

Go Aussies!!!!! :winner: Well done Michelle!!!

How exciting Anne. Good luck to her, I hope she does well. An aussie cool running story :)

It seems like so many have similar stories..never seeing snow until later in their life and next thing you know they are going to the olympics! Must take a LOT of hard work and dedication.

I was watching the news this morning. It looks like the Luge run has been a bit dangerous for a few competitors :(

Lets hope she gets through it okay.

I saw her on Sunrise yesterday morning :) One of the reporters had a parcel to give to her from the people of Bundy.

Is her event different to the luge that was on yesterday? They showed that lady on the new, I couldn't watch, looked very painful!

Also we won our first Gold medal how cool is that?

Oh I am so very pleased to hear she is getting some coverage. :) She's a lovely girl, and so young to be in something as big as the Olympics hey!! She will remember this for the rest of her life, no matter what!!! :D

Wooohoo, way to go Ozzies!!!! One Gold, and another one when Michelle competes tonight!!!!! ;)

Just watched Michelle on TV (on Sunrise). She did well around those corners & I'm glad she got through the course okay. They were saying that she has only been doing it for about 12 months so that is a huge achievement

Yes, she did do remarkably well. :) I am pleased you got to see her, I didn't as they never showed it here in NZ even though I stayed up till 2am this morning watching!!:Hehe:

I think she will be very pleased with her efforts, she is a remarkable sports-woman, for one so young. I doubt this will be the last time we see Michelle representing Australia. :)
