Has this been done previously?

What tip/s did your mother give you that you actually took notice of? :D

Can be any little gem, any topic.

ummm not sure... mum always taught me the practicle things in life, how to run the home, correct speech, manners etc... but something that I actually took notice of and use in todays world, ummm..... maybe, pretty much just what goes around, comes around. Treat people the way they treat you/people will treat you the way you treat them.

I used to want curly hair but then I saw the hell my neice has to go through every day to have her hair looking tame.. (and she is only 4! LMAO ) My hair is that straight one of my friends asked if I straighten it every day because it always looks dead straight! but I just brush it and I'm off- so much easier!

My mum always said to never drink on an empty stomach...:hehe: No, thats not it, I learned nearly everything from her, some things are just coming to me now, at my age! She taught me how to be 'ladylike' and mostly I am0:) Just so many things that dont occur to me, I just do it. One thing I did learn was how to makes 'ends meet'. She used to sit with her friend discussing this and I asked her 'how do you make ends meat?' I thought it was a beef dish..its been a laughing point for years...:>:

I've heard of "don't trust a man with short stubby fingers" before lots of times, it probably comes from years ago when thieves had their fingers chopped off.

Probably most things i do in my life my mum taught me and i just do them instictivly.
2 bits of advice that stick out are
1) Never assume anyone else will do the right thing. ( when i was learning to drive but it works in everyday life to)

2) Dont worry if you are a perfect parent because [DS] will never know if you forgot to do something. As long as he has a full tummy and a clean bum he is happy (shortly after i gave birth and was a bit stressed about everything)
