Does anyone use bigpond cable, if so what firewall software do you use?
Have my puter back up and running, sort of. I remember having this trouble when I first got cable, trying to find a firewall that I could configure properly to allow the stupid heart beat thing. This time I have had no luck. So getting disconnected every 15mins x(
Didn't want to ring them, because they are as helpful as a rock

Okay according to my OH - we have Bogpond Cable and use ZoneAlarm Pro as our Firewall plus we have a router with firewall protection built in.
We had the same problem getting the heartbeat accepted - if you want to use ZA Pro or the free one - you need to set up the firewall zones with the following trusted IP addresses - 61.9.192.13 and 61.9.192.14 and another one 61.9.128.15 and you could also set up 144.136.104.29 So if you add those to the firewall zones as trusted IP addresses it should theoritically allow the heartbeat to go through.
The other thing that maybe required is that you need to allow (Under Custom Firewall Settings) for the internet zone - Incoming UDP ports 5060,5190 etc and allow incoming TCP ports (same numbers), need to select medium security settings for the internet zone and you need to select "Block incoming netbios ports 135, 137 - 9 etc"
That should be it - let us know how you go.
Cheers

Thanks for that Gail :) , I gave up and rang them LOL. Got this shits with trying to find the info I needed, I knew where it was, but having to refresh every page 5 times to get it to load was doing my head in
I've had issues in the past with zonealarm, so didn't bother trying that one again.
I gave in and bought the firewall through bigpond, it's only $4 something a month and i can just set it and leave it. The sooner they ditch the stupid heartbeat the better!
:IE: We need one of these for Telstra, I really hate that I have no choice but to be with them x(
