I used to work in advertising (many moons ago) first job in fact...anyway it was interesting world how ads get made and that...are there ads on tv that you like and maybe stop to watch and are there ads that you just can't stand...like that beer ad with the tongue, I always change channel if I see that one...but I like the other beer ad, that is a big beer ad, the one that shows all these men running towards each other...very clever really...the other one I hate is AAMI ads...they are so dumb...whiskers ad with Bruno who turns his nose up at the other kitty kat food...some cars ads are clever too...

At the moment I hate the Coles ad that has all the new mothers ... one of them says "there's so many nappies ... they know me at the supermarket now" and then at the end you see her buying the smallest possible bag of Huggies and for some reason that just pisses me off. Every time I think to myself, well DUH! If you bought the BIG box of nappies, you'd only need to go every other week instead of every other day. That's not from an advertising perspective though. (Yeah, I know, I've got *issues*).
I don't like the Coke Zero ad. That's okay, I'm not their target audience.
I hate the Jenny Craig ads with Kirstie Alley moaning about cake and chicken fettucini.
I hate any ads that try to claim crappy sugary food is good for kids.
But I think McDonald's ads (in spite of having a strong dislike for the food in general) are great! They do great advertising, must have a huge budget. I really like those current 'inner child' ones.

George Patterson have the contract for McDonalds and they don;t have a budget for advertising they can go to town...yes they are very clever ads...
The reason I don;t like Coles ads cause of Lisa McCune, she just bugs me and yes I can see what your saying about her only buying a small amount of nappies...can't say I thought of it from that perspective LMAO Also the V paper towel ad, where the kid is eating pasta then ice cream makes me what to grab a cloth, I nearly pass out each time I see it...the mess makes cringe.
I really like the car ad that shows all the parts and them moving around to get to the final car, from memory I think it is an Audi ad and it has won a stack of awards...
And that ad for Diffuclan One where the girl talks about thrush, well that is a bit much as well...interesting how there are no condom ads on tv or are there? They have them on the radio? I guess censorship would be hard...

Haven't seen any tampon ads for a while - they used to annoy me; the thrush treatment ones annoy me. Particularly the one that starts off with the voiceover "and now it's time for love and commitment"; the woman comes on and laughs, "that should have got rid of all the boys, now we can talk about thrush." Like the average bloke would bother to get up off the lounge if a dumb ad came on! He'd be channel chopping!
There is a new ad where a kid throws his football gear into the dishwasher and makes a big mess in kitchen; the mother walks in and smiles at the kid as if it was funny.. like, as if!
I like the MacDonalds ads too, and the new Tooheys ad where they launch all the beer ingredients into the sky to make it rain beer.. though I can't understand why the two girls get sent up there (barmaids?)

I always have a chuckle at the Finesse (sp??) ad. The one with the gravy in a packet that is 'just like a little jug'.
It's so lame but I giggle every time I see it :Hehe:
I also like the good guys ad where the kid smashes the tv and when the dad comes running in the boy sings "nah nah nah nah nah, nah nah nah"
The best one was that Big Beer Ad - that was awesome but I have only seen it once.
Can't say I watch too many ads - I'm usually running back to the study to post on AFW in the ads :Hehe:

Okay, I really hate that ford fiesta ad with the guy and the girl in lab-coats, modelling the clay a la Ghost
I love the Green tea ads, where the conversations are being very "honest". So refreshing!!!!!!
I also like the Twisties ad where the kid ends up in the chip vending machine to a packet of Twisties.
In SA there is an ad (TV & radio) where all you hear for a whole minute is a dripping tap and in the background someone saying "Metropolitan plumbing". It drives me up the B.....y wall and I have to change the channel/station every time it comes on.
My 4yo daughter hates (scared of) the Nova radio ad where the man is cutting the skin off the orange and every time he make a cut the orange screams, however she loves the one where the baby crying makes the sound of a chainsaw. GO FIGURE!!!!!
I personally hate the ad where the boy child is deliberately trying to crash the toy cars off the track and then the Ford does not crash and stays on track.
Best one I have seen lately is for the newest Dove product (green) where the women are dressed up and made up and then transform into natural beautiful women. (e.g Geisha, showgirl, executive etc)
Anything with Bert Newton in it gives me the irrits. It is about time he was put out to pasture!!!!!!
That supermarket/winter olympics ad gave me the poops too.
SORRY FOR ALL THE WHINGING. I WILL STOP NOW!!

That twisties ad ... it actually makes me want twisties (which I guess is the point) so I bought a packet last week. I don't really like twisties that much but I kind of enjoyed it. They make me thirsty though.
I love those green tea ads, too - especially the beauty spa one where they're talking about the exclusive mud wrap "exclusively from our back yard" :jump: I actually want to try the drink but DH said it wasn't that great, too sweet or something.

I hate the ad with the model doing her toe nails. I think it is for yoghurt (fat free) lollies. She has them between her toes and in the next frame she is popping one into her mouth. It looks like she is eating lollies from between her toes! :eww: It's gross.
I like the ad where the lady is eating mango yoghurt perving on the pool guy and it turns out to be her husband.
And I love the Huggies ad (i think) where the mother is holding the baby and the song is 'It Must Be Love'. When I was pregnant it use to make me cry.

I used to really love the buggar add they should put that on again.:D The Ingham chicken add when the little girl says bloody oath is pretty funny. We have an add here in the west advertising Mount Barker Chickens. They are free range and you see them all over the town then their owner rings the pub and tells the publican to please send the chickens home :jump: :jump:
