I was woundering how many of us have these nights & what do you guys do?
My kids love it, saturday nights is family night, we play board games, listen to LP'S yes ladies don't laugh LP'S. Yes we do own CD'S but our kids just love the old music & it's doesn't sound as good on a cd.
Every chrsitmas & kids birthdays we get board games so we are building up a collection now..
I love family night even my hubby joins in he loves it just as much as me.......:)

We used to have them....the TT either feels he is too old now or he doesn't consider just the two of us a whole family.

Growing up we had family nights and we still have family nights playing board games etc when my parents, siblings and our partners get together. My DD is too little but it is definately something we plan to have when she is older! We also use to have "family fun days" where we would play games in the backyard there were 4 kids in my family with 5 years between oldest and youngest so with mum and dad we would have 2 teams of 3! Those were the days :D

our 3 kids only see each other at Christmas & maybe once or twice through the year, which is a shame but thats the way it goes, when they are here christmas eve everyone gets on really well but the 3 of them have absolute different lives & they are all going in their own direction, sad but true
i loved it when my parents & their partners were alive & we would have family get togethers but it was only chrissy, easter, mother & fathers days & birthdays but it was regular as there are 4 of us oh & then when it was my kids Bdays that was a big family gatering to. & mum would have us all at her house & she loved to prepare it all & when it was at dads all of us kids took plates & bowls full of food & it would be a big BBQ .
my stepdaughter said that as a kid she always remembers going to my mothers place & there would be tables full of food all home cooked & baked & all the old fashioned stuff, mums yard was huge so the kids would play totum tennis & cricket & just have a ball just as we did when we were kids at our grandparents.
Dad managed a caravan park at Clarence Town & had the Williams River running past it with loads of picnic area & park to play so the kids loved going there as well, sadly that wont happen anymore but they still get to come here & run riot as our place

I'm getting a great collection of games too Mel, we have many games, board games, puzzles and a couple of huge plastic boxes packed with all the craft stuff on the planet! (Apart from glue, must make a mental note to buy some more glue!):hehe:
:yes:We always have family nights and family days too, play games, we do crafts alot and scrapbooking, we have alot of movie nights and the occasional 'dancing' night where we all take turns in picking songs and dance around the house. We've just started having family gardening days! the girls are really enjoying that. When we have a BBQ out the back we kick the balls around, jump on the tramp etc...
Jalise is getting into charades lately and wants to play right when I'm watching something on TV!:headh:
I really love our 'girly' nights when we all get into out PJs, put on a good family movie and paint each others nails, brush each others hair... etc... Then I'd have one of them massaging cream into my back while another is doing a 'therapy treatment' on my feet with body lotions and little tools (such as plastic tea set cutlery) it's great!:D We usually end it with a fruit salad fondue, put on another movie and fall asleep on the mattresses I'd dragged out to the loungeroom.

we did, but that was when i didn't have work and we would have weekends to ourselves! LOL. kind of hard now with the kids always running here and there with there sports and school activities. we used to order in pizza on friday night and watch a movie. or we'd play board games. we went through our UNO phase and we used to play for hours on end! a few times i would just tell the kids to get their pj's on and i would too and we'd just throw a movie in. little things like that can be so much fun and relaxing even for the adult! :hehe:
i didn't really do that growing up.
mummy, sounds like you and the girls have a great time! :)

We do on and off. We've started movie night on Saturday with whatever Disney is running that night. I watch with the kids and popcorn and they enjoy that. We have a good collection of board games... but unfortunately half of them are missing pieces (that's what happens when everyone has accessa dn visiting kids want to pull every single game out at once!). The kids and I also have singstar contests every so often :)

i found that one of the things i did when i was older with my mom was go out with her and her fiancee. they've been dating i think when i was 18..so whenever they went out to eat, me and my ex boyfriend would go along. it would be fun. :)

Yes  we do and they are great :)
We don't do it every week as usually one of the boys is off somewhere staying at a friends house. But if there is only 3 of us here, we might make it into a movie night and let whoever is home with us pick the movie etc...
We also have them when we go up to the van - sometimes, during the day as well :)
