Well mark was down there doing his when i posted before and he came back saying, i wouldnt go yet the lines are long (45 min wait) and you had to stand in the blaring sun. So i thought id wait a bit, i just went down a few mins ago and the lines wer still extremly long, so i thought id stand there in line and see how quick it was moving, within 30 seconds i had an official pull me out of the line and take me staright in! I was so thankful theres no way i could have waited that long standing up and in the hot sun to boot!

Manda most of the people who organise the polling booths are very considerate to elderly and heavily pregnant women....the last time I actually had to go vote, I noticed they did the same thing. You know you could have easily qualified for a postal vote....late pregnancy is one of the conditions that is on the form  Not much use this time but something to keep in mind for next time :)

i went to vote & walked straight in no waiting
Patricia
24-11-2007, 01:48 PM
No waiting for me either.....well I lined up but it was a fast moving line and I was at the front within a minute or so.
I was a little disappointed there were no cake stalls or sausage sizzles this year, usually they have both in abundance.

I love a good cake stall but DH will not eat anything from them as he is very fussy & thinks not everyone has clean hands or cooking utensils, i have no idea why he is like this because his mother was filthy ( maybe thats why eh ) & i hate buying snags from the tents because i think they get the cheapest ones & they are slap happy with the butter etc & yet DH will always buy a snag from a stall. i think we are both very weird actually

LMAO @ MOC's comment re: DH's mother being filthy. :D
I love a good cake stall too.
Re: sausage sizzle. The smell of the sausages/onions cooking is always far better than the actual taste IMO.
Patricia

I have to be honest and say I don't ever buy anything from the cake stall because I cook my own but I do usually donate some baked goods so I am not sure why they didn't have it this year...maybe not enough bakers available?
I also have to admit that I am quite partial to a sausage and onion on bread (no butter) but with lashings of sauce. *Drool* Out here in Woop Woop this is considered take-away food...LMAO
Leigh

I'm not keen on buying cakes from stalls...I bet people lick the spoon and stuff and just keep mixing (cause I do LMAO)
I like a sausage sandwhich most of the time...they usually taste better than when you try it at home.

I went this morning - not much of a wait. I went to my old primary school which was interesting. Everything looks so small - the hall where you vote I always thought was huge but it quite a small room!!!!
Not sure what I'm doing tonight - I don't really see myself watching the count tonight.......it maybe another night of The West Wing!!!!!

Jen, you mean to say you won't be watching the live, no ads coverage until they have an answers :hehe: I know someone who will be :P
Are you outing me?? :P Yes, we will be excitedly watching results, flicking between channels for updates, and on the ABC and EAC websites to keep up with what's happening.
We have a bottle of champagne (Moet) on ice, we'll get take away for dinner. I can't wait :) It's really exciting (well, for us. I get that most people don't have the same sense of passion for it).
Oh and speaking of the West Wing, I went to the ABC shop today, they have each series on sale for $40 so I got series one for DH for Christmas. Then we went to KMart and they have it on sale for $32 x( But DJs are selling it for $120. How on earth does THAT work?
Patricia
24-11-2007, 03:26 PM
What time do you want me to arrive Naomi?
I want to be there for the Moet...:hehe:
I havent voted yet I am going to have cuppa then pop over the golf club I will vote on the way over then stop at the video shop on the way home to get a good movie?
My daughter said she got a verbal warning from the police she parked in a no standing while voting at the school as there was no where to park her car. She was lucky a lot of people getting tickets!

Stormy, I never even thought about postal voting, I mean i live across the road from a polling place. Also i really didnt think there would be a line up like that....I thought that since there was several polling booths around the area most would go to the other ones, guess i thought wrong LMAO
Thanks for the info tho, LOL i probably wont even think about it in four years time lol
