That is really sad... I'm a bit teary. She was an inspiration. I'm sad for her son... he's now lost both his parents and he's still so young.

I saw it this morning and the first thing I thought was, their poor son, he's not very old.
On the radio this morning they were talking about people who got lung cancer event though they aren't smokers. I guess the 'normal' picture of lung cancer is that smokers get it but apparently quite a few people who have never been a smoker can get it too.

Passive smoking? Modern living (air pollution)? Ironic that people who have smoked all their lives can live to a ripe old age.

Yes, it's mostly due to exposure to second hand smoke (passive smoking) which is apparently worse for you because it's 'fresher', hasn't been through the filter. A lot of cases are people who work in the hospitality industry in pubs and clubs so have a high exposure to it. Makes you wonder when almost all other workplaces are smoke free ...

Such a loss for Will (her son who is 13)...imagine losing both parents at that age...she was brave to the end they said...
Saw some of the Diane Sawyer interview, she seemed like such an amazing women...young too 44...
Not very fair really...
