Welcome to OTO.

Tell us more about your cat? I have three moggies. They are indoor cats and only go outside on their harness but won't walk with harness on. They have me to carry them LOL, My avatar is P Puss. I also have her two brothers- Dootie and Widgee Wee.

We tried the harness thing, and it never went over too well. Started them all out early. But as soon as you got it on, they would go all limp and play dead LOL.

It's great that he loves it so much. Maybe you could change the time of day you take him, just to trick him LOL.

Tell us more about your cat, do you have any pics? :)

Hi Petrie,

I have 3 burmese Sao, Bizkit & Scarlett. Bizkit & Scarlett just play dead as Alex said LOL Sao walks fine in a harness but drives me mad as you can't lead him ..he leads me.. through the bushes, around the tree.. LOL I'm continually picking him up trying to suggest the direction I'd like him to go.

I'd love to hear more about your kitty too :)

I don't use a harness I just put a collar on and a lead.He sleeps all the time.Likes to be brushed every day. sleeps with me besides my head during winter. He doesn't like men I do say he cotton onto my daughter's husband when she brought him home for the first time years ago.He just loved him straight away. When he was around you could never get him off his lap.

Petrie - Salem sounds very lovely. And he's very lucky to go for that daily walk!!

My Ash uses the harness because using a collar and lead he can easily get his head out of so I think a harness is safer. Ash would be out 24/7 but I only let him out for little periods of time.

Linxss - I am sorry to hear that your poor kitty got run over. Did she get out from the house or was she outdoors? I grew up around many cats that my relatives used to let outside and get run over or die from injury from cat fights ;( It is very terrible but has made me realise domestic cats need to be inside!!

No it was an outdoor cat. All of ours have been, we have a fair bit of property and our cats usually dont go up near the road. Plus, they have all been feral kittens/cats that we have tamed, so it seems awful to keep them inside when they know what its like to be outside all the time.
Petrie, your kitty sounds gorgeous :)
