My non fiction would have to be any true crime-anything old or new, also supernatural, ghostsetc:D
Fiction would be crime as in Patricia Cornwell, Kathy Reichs-along those lines:)

I read most stuff. Non fiction I quite like biographies. Fiction I have a tendency towards mysteries and crime, or chick lit for easy, no-need-to-engage reading. I used to be a big fan of horror (like Poe for true horror or Hitchcock-esque type of suspense/thriller). I like some sci fi but really the more traditional stuff like Asimov.
I suppose I read almost anything, and I do re-read books all the time.

No no no! Cannot re-read or re-watch movies (with very very few exceptions!)

LOL I have this discussion with DH - he does not reread or rewatch either (except for reference/text books) and can't understand how I can do it ... especially with mysteries, I already know the answer etc. But for me reading is about enjoying the words, the escape from reality, making the story come alive in my imagination and I can do it over and over (with some books).

I like any good book, but prefer scifi and supernatural, not into romance unless it's an historical romance, can't live without reading, like to read autobiographies and anything by Dean Koontz, Steven King I like but mostly only his earlier book's.

I read most genres but don't like horror - scardy cat that I am! Crime is great. Chick-lit is excellent if I just feel like reading a book in an afternoon.
I've just gotton into Jodi Picoult courtesy of my neighbour and am really enjoying her books.
I also like biographies. I just got Gordon Ramsay's from DH for Xmas and am looking forward to reading it.
Oh and I love travel stories. I've travelled a lot in my time and always pick up a book relating to where I'm going. I do like reading short travel story collections though - always fun and light.

I prefer fiction over non-fiction, but give me any book with strong female characters and I'll devour it.

My absolute favourite is called Rachels' Holiday, about drug addiction. Also Is Anybody Out There? (about death of a loved one) and her most recent This Charming Man (about domestic abuse).
All pretty weighty subjects but handled superbly and with the right balance of humour and sobriety.
A lot of Marian's characters are from the same ficticious family, which also adds to the enjoyment. (but are not a series)
Her earlier books are also fun reads but not as polished ... imo!
If you try them let me know what you think :D
Do you have and rec's yourself?
