Apparently my blog is emulating me, and hating Internet Explorer - it either is too slow to load (lol I just typed "too load to slow" and then "too sload to low" before I got it right - back to problem), freezes computers or downright crashes IE.
However - Firefox has no problems with it - does anyone have any suggestions as to what may be causing this? I have NOTHING fancy on my blog.

Not sure Jeanie...you know I've never even looked at my own blog through IE because I figure who on earth would be using it anymore :hehe:
I just opened your site in IE on my laptop and I didn't have a problem at all. No crashes, not phenomenally slow to load. :dk:

Don't use IE would be my first suggestion :hehe:
Could you try taking of the crazy hip blog mama blogroll, and see if that helps. Those java scripted blogrolls can slow you down quite a bit.

I have to use IE for work and find that on sites with a heavy javascript version, the page can be very slow to load. If you do have a few javascript widgets on your blog, that might be causing the problem.
Also I have noticed that the Internet in general this morning has been a bit sluggish.

I took off the CHBM bit so hopefully that will improve. I will use V, my IE guinea pig, to test it for me. Thanks.

I have a firefox plugin that allows me to view sites in IE from within firefox. When I tried it before, it crashed firefox. Seems to be ok now, Hope that has fixed your problem.
Perhaps you could put the blogroll on a separate page.

I had a look in FF and then in IE just a minute ago.. and even with our sloooooooooooooooooooooow slow slow ISDN connection it was fine for me! :) Great read too by the way!

Well.....I still use Internet Explorer (which I'm assuming is what you're all referring to as IE). Simply because it's what came on our computer. I've only recently even heard of firefox.
Is it something you can download from the internet?

Yes, it is free and easy to download firefox www.getfirefox.com You just need to download and install and your good to go. It can take a bit of getting used to, but it is so much better, and you will probably find it quicker as well.

Jeanie I'm really glad it has all worked out okay.
Just for anyone else who may have the javascript widgets from hell....I don't visit a second time because it is soooooooooo slow and I don't have time.
Many women have the Blogging Chicks Widget thingy and I find that to be a major offender of slowing everything down. I say get rid of those networks and work in with forums like this that keep you connected with other serious women bloggers.

I just went to your blog Jeanie and it loaded in IE with no problems. By the way, are you using the latest version of IE - Internet Explorer 7? How fast a page loads will depend on your internet connection as well.
I prefer IE but my teenage son prefers FireFox so we have both on the home computer. I've used both and don't see a difference in the time it takes to load a page. So I guess it just comes down to personal choice.

Ever since IE has decided that it "hits an unexpected error - do you want to debug" and gives me no option but to close or try debugging (ha ha ha ha ha ha ha), me and IE have an understanding. I don't bother it, and it only bothers me through thwarting my loyal readership with crashing!
Actually, it is much better now I have taken off the Crazy Hip Blog Mama's scripting - doesn't bring back the readers who I inadvertently upset during that time...
