Today, again is bloggers are uniting to make a difference. A few months ago the challenge was abuse, and bloggers all over the world bloged about abuse.
Today, 17th Dec, Bloggers Unite challenges bloggers everywhere to do something good offline — an act of kindness — and then post about it on their blogs, using words, pictures, and/or videos to tell the story.
Even something small, can make a difference. Make a donation, help someone...

I went Christmas shopping - does that count as a random act of kindness? lol...there was so many people I just wanted to get the kids a scratch each and get the hell out of the shops! Paul on the other hand LOVES all the people and has a marvelous time wandering around looking, buying, chatting to strangers, etc.
I love the movie Pay it Forward. The whole concept of paying good luck onto someone else really tickles my fancy. It is something I have tried to do all my life anyway, but I never had a framework words to describe why I was doing it until I saw the movie.

lol - well I kind of did that with my post today, didn't I???? I did get notification on this. But I figure I try to promote that message on my blog regularly anyway, just having a 'day of it', well, I can get away without doing it for once........

I was kind to my children.. does that count??
We also sent a Christmas card to someone who I think will love to get it as a surprise... someone who looked after my girls when they were teeny tiny very sick bubbas, who will die of shock when they see the HUGE baby I had this time around! I am not sure who it will make smile me.. them when they get it or me thinking about them getting it! :)

That's a wonderful idea Leigh. One of the things I love about blogging is the opportunity to do some good in the world and to influence others in a positive way.
I monitor the blogosphere and keep up with all the issues relating to blogging and recently I reported on my blog the case where one female blogger asked her readers to complain to Wal-Mart in the US about a pair of girls panties they were selling with the words "Who needs credit cards..." printed on the the front. The readers of feministing complained to WalMart and the product was pulled from sale the very next day. The story was also picked up by Fox News. So my point is, as bloggers we can make a difference and if we are in a position to do so, we should do our part to make the world a better place.
