View Full Version : Blogging resolutions/aims for the new year
I'm starting to get organised for the new year with NSO and I was just wondering what everyones blogging resolutions and aims are for the new year?
Mine are:
Not leaving writing posts til the last minute so that I end up sitting in front the screen frustrated that the words aren't flowing. I suspect this may be like many of my other organisational-type aims in life and I will have the best of intentions and the worst of follow through.
Increase traffic (I'm sure we all have this) preferably without having to spend any money! At the moment I'm not exactly sure how i am going to achieve this, but will report back when I've thought it through more.
Not to change the site template again. I'm terrible with this because I get bored of my templates very easily. I've gone through three in my first year, and enough is enough.

Gee...that is spokey..sounds just like me :hehe:
Mine would have to be..
Definitely all of the above for both blogs
Main one would be to just post more on AFW
Comment more, I tend to be a bit of a lurker. It's not that I am not reading, but unless I get in at the beginning I feel stupid coming a long and commenting something along the lines of "me too" from both blogs too.
Take more/post more pictures and more personal posts at crazy meezer. I tried this last year with the 365 challenge, I lasted 2 weeks LMAO.
Perhaps find another writer for AFW or more guest posters.

I am desperately trying to get my new blog(s) up and running as I have so many things I'd like to do with them... but I am telling myself I need to take the time to get them set up properly and then I can run with all the ideas... just wish life hasn't gotten in the way so much this past week so I could have achieved more... though while I have dubbed 2008 'The Year of Organisation' I suspect life getting in the way might be a common problem for me this year so I will just have to learn to work around it!

Haven't really thought about it as yet...
I still have a few things to finish off from last year.....some articles for Leigh being the top of the list but I keep getting distracted by the travel pages of the Courier Mail :hehe:

Mine would be to learn a little html and about widgets and whatnot to make a better display down my sidebar.
To learn more about feeds
Just to learn more about blogging in general I guess.

I want to make it into the top 50 Australian Women Bloggers or whatever it is that pink map of Australia is! :) Gotta aim high yeah???
Oh, and I'm contemplating monetising my blog - whether or not I want to and if I do, how.....
Plus the usual....post inspiring posts, build readership, learn more about blogging.....etc :D

Well I want to quadruple my readership this year. I figure if I achieve that then a lot of other things will start to fall into place.
I also want to increase my email newsletter membership to 1000, which I think, given the rate of sign up is very doable.
Kate, if you are starting your blog my suggestion would be to get the thing out there, start building your catalogue of posts and tweak it cosmetically as you go along.
