Hello, I am wondering if anyone knows how to connect two computers via a parallel cable? I've just bought a new P4 and I want to keep certain emails from the old computer. I have transfered most files via disk but Outlook Express wont let me do that.
I have done this before, so I know it can be done...I just cant seem to get it working this time.
If I try to forward the emails they just end up on the same computer (they both have the same email address.)
Any help, thank you will be appreciated.

Can't help you with the cable. I usually save my emails to disk to move them to a new puter. The forwarding should work too if you send the emails from the old computer, turn off automatic mail checking while you send them, then shutdown outlook when your done. Then you can just receive them on the new puter.

Thanks Leigh, I forwarded the email to my daughters email address and then she forwarded them onto mine.
To connect using the two cables you need to make a disk that goes into each computer to be connected. I just didn't have a free disk to burn and thought there might be another way.
Thanks again.
Telori ... I do things like this as a hobby and my suggestion would be to buy a USB Stick. They are very handy and you can backup your emails (file, export ... messages or address) and save them onto your USB Stick. Then all you have to do is Import them from the stick onto the other computer. Unless you want to share an internet connection, I wouldn't suggest creating a LAN (local area network). Makes things harder to keep hackers at bay.
Hope this heaps.

Thanks Naga, I have a USB stick and you know I didnt even think to use it. LMAO It's all done now and I have everything I wanted onto my new computer. We are using a router to connect the girls computer to the Internet, they have a USB antenae and it works really great.
