Why is it that whenever the husband of the house is at work and the children are at school you can clean the house once in the morning and it will stay clean and tidy without too much more effort BUT when they are at home it seems to be a continuous round of picking up and putting away from morning til night?

Anyone else find this too?

Hello Elizabeth.....back again?

Ladies it's because they are trained to expect us to pick up after them....and we have done the training!

I hate this ritual.. so now I leave it and if it is something of the kids I make a point of kicking it around or making it tear a bit so they get all upset about it.. then I jump into the "well thats what happens when you don't pick things up" song and dance.

soon enough they have the point and they are picking their things up.

hubby is bad with his boots and work bag too... so boots I hide and work bag goes under lounge.. he gets the point when he is running late for work..

here too. i try putting something away and then DF goes, i'll just be using it again in a little while. AHH, that bothers me so much. so then leave it out 24/7 and don't put it away! JEEEEZ. and then he'll say i'm going nuts or he'll get upset with the kids when i go on and on about putting their stuff away. well? they're old enough to have some responsebility around here and all they have to do is school work and put their things away. i don't ask for too much, do i?! UGHH!

when i do my super clean every saturday/sunday i make DF clean up his stuff. his paint supplies and xmas stuff was on the kitchen floor for days and i told him to put it away. now they're on the top of the stairs walking into the house. i can never get him to just DO IT! and then he complained yesterday that he fell down the stairs because he tripped over the stuff. WELL MOVE IT THEN! LMAO

I don't have kids , hang on .. i have my DH ! http://e.deviantart.com/emoticons/c/confuse.gif

He always opens pkts of chips, a loaf of bread etc etc... and never puts lids back on, or ties things up again or whatever ..it is soo frustrating !! If i say anything, i am nagging ! grrrr

and what is when they do dishes (on the rare occasions), that they can't wipe the bench/table/stove down quickly at the same time ????

I would love it if just one day df would take it dishes to the sink. putting them in the dishwasher is asking too much i know but take them to the sink when you get up to make a coffee isnt too hard
