DD just turned on the light upstairs and i heard a like a little bang and saw a flash and then it went dark(in that room). Anyway she said it banged and there was a flash and the globe flew out:uhno: Like WTF!!! Anyway i investigated and the bulb has blown out of the fitting and left the part that screws in behind:yes: How bloody dangerous. It scared her a bit but she is okay. But i guess its something else to tell them.Have never had it happen before.Has anyone? Am bit concerned about upstairs now:yes: My room and bubs room is up there.

we have had that happen before.. light globe is faulty and just blew right out of the socket.

it happens sometimes if the kids think it is ok to sit there playing with the switch.

lucky all are ok.

are there not covers over the globes?

I would think it was just the one socket, but then. I'm not an electrician! :) Stay clear of that one and let them know first thing tomorrow - it's a safety concern

It happened at the last place we rented, it was the same as you described. The light bulb actually shattered though (that might have happened when it hit the tiles) and the screw in part was still in the fitting. 'We' (he!) removed the end of the bulb and replaced it and we never had another problem with it. It was a new house so I wasn't really worried about the electricals. It was pretty scary when it happened and I was thankful we weren't underneath it at the time.
