where has the time gone?

My little 5 yr old started school today. She was so excited she got up at 6am!!
she looks so cute in her school dress and hat... I am the one feeling all emotional, not her!

We went off and she seemed to settle in ok... I took lots of pics, and there was a teacher taking pics of the kids and family pics for the first while... that was so nice.

They had a morning tea organised for the new parents and we got to know some of them which was nice.

I came home and its so QUIET!
I have just been walking about the house not sure what to do with myself, waiting time to go pick her up....
is that normal?

an hr to go....

Perfectly normal....I had a GF who insisted on taking me shopping when the TT started Preschool almost 13 years ago....kept looking at my watch thinking..."oh, they will be having fruit and milk now" or "story time now"....I think I was on the doorstep at 2.55pm to collect him....and did he miss me?

Im glad to hear it went well........and yes its normal, even tho when dyl started school i still had 2 at home, but i still walked around feeling like i was missing something, and couldnt stop counting down the hrs and mins til he home!

Bell started her first day yesty (see the thread RE it) and i still felt lost!

Tomorrow try going for a walk or a coffee or something, Do something you would usually like doing but dont because of the kid(s)

oh... I know I want her to be independant.. but in a way I want her to miss me too!

I just hope she doesnt start moving away from me now as we have a wonderful close relationship...
I miss her and keep watching the clock every 5 minutes!

Well congratulations....you've survived one of the greatest traumas a loving parent can endure.
You're lucky that you got some info....have a look at Manda's thread.

Oh I felt the same way when my boy started preschool last week, and that's only two days a week!

I'm glad she had a good start, it makes it easier for Mum :)
