Manda...I swear by both to clean stainless steel sinks and surrounds (there is no scratching either)...just sprinkle some BiCarb then pour a small amount of vinegar.

BTW....I buy big containers of Cleaning Vinegar....only a couple of $

Yes white vinegar Manda. I've started using that also, it's a lot safer to have around the kiddies. It will clean anything and everything, use on floors, the only time you need chemical cleaners is if there's a stain to tackle. I use bi-carb on a wet sponge in the bathroom, works great.

Just sprinkle the bi-carb on Manda..sprinkle the vinegar on and when it starts fizzing use your scourer to scrub as normal...repeat if you need too :)

Another good tip is to use your vinegar in a spray bottle ;)

Manda....Cleaning vinegar is much, much cheaper than cooking vinegar (both have the same effect when using for cleaning).....and to tell you the truth, doesn't have such a strong smell.

I put my vinegar in a spray bottle, then sprinkle bicarb around the shower stall, spray some vinegar on it - and as its fizzes I scrub with an old washing up brush.

For drains I put about 4 big spoon fulls of bicarb down the drain then pour half a cup of vinegar and let it fizz away.

For the loo I pour half a cup of vinegar in and leave it for half an hour then scrub with the loo brush and flush.

For the fridge I do it the same as the shower but with a sponge.

i use vinegar and newspaper to clean mirrors and glass.
bi carb and vinegar down the drains
vinegar in the washingmachine every so often to clean the pipes (no clothes)
make a paste with bi carb and water to remove burnt on food in pots etc. also workd to make them look like new on the outside
slightly off topic but i put a bowl of cold water with a few lemon slices in the microwave for 5 mins. the steam loosens all the crap and makes it easy to just wipe out and the lemon makes it smell nice

Oh never thought of bunnings. The Coles nearest me sells a kilo sized box for under $2 and I pour it into an icecream container with a sealable lid.
