Hi ladies.
Did anyone see Derryn Hinch tonight on the news etc.
He is a very sick man by the looks of him.
He won't tell us what's wrong with him. It's only his Doctor, his wife and himself that know what's the matter.
I feel for him. I haven't always agreed with his opinions, but I hate to see someone who is that sick.

Isn't someone trying to charge him with indecent assault?

Barbara - yes, sexual assualt. That's why we've got to see him on TV otherwise we wouldn't have known that he was sick.
I dont always agree with his opinions, he is sometimes his own worst enemy, but he is always very passionate about the things he believes in. I do feel sorry for him at times. I didn't know he was sick I did not see the news tonight.

Oh Dear I didn't realise he was sick just thought he had lost heaps of weight too quickly. Yes agree he's looking very drawn in the face and seems to have aged alot. I used to love watching him in the early days with his current affairs program, he has a backbone and stands up for what he believes in instead of being told what to say. Very sad if he is sick.
I did see in the paper today there was a suggestion he has bowel cancer. He is not saying what type of health problem he has.It is very sad.

I didn't know he was sick. I saw him on television for something during the week and I did think how old he looked and sounded all of a sudden. Bowel cancer is horrible (as is any kind of serious illness).

Wasn't it Derryn who suggested that Graham Kennedy died of AIDS?

Yes he got crucified by the rest of the media for that one didn't he. I think he crossed the line on that one though.

There is an story today in the paper about the women charging Derryn with sexual assult, this happened in 2004, she wants money this women and according to the Daily Telegraph, she asked for $100,000...he seems determined to fight it all the way...
She might be out for his money, he is 62?
Is he another Shane Warne?

Derryn said in an interview that there were rumours about him having bowel cancer. He denied that that was the problem. He won't say what it is.
Yes I think he overstepped the mark about Graham Kennedy too.
I don't think he is another Shane Warne. He said this woman is just trying to get money from him - she's an ex business partner or something like that. Also she didn't tell the police, she told Derryn's accountant about the alleged sexual assault. I'm not defending him, just stating what I've heard from him in the media.

that's very sad ... again, i didn't agree with a lot of what he said, but he is a passionate man ... particularly for children's rights ... we need more like him

He is very passionate about womens' and childrens' causes that I couldn't imagine that he would sexually assault a woman.
He does overstep the line at times and he definitely did in the case of suggesting that Graham Kennedy died of complications from Aids.
He does appear to be fighting a tough battle with his health, but he has said it isn't life-threatening.

He certainly does seem to have aged quite drastically rather quickly, hasn't he? I would hazard a guess that it may be cancer - just because he's so gaunt and the people I've known who've suffered this generally go that way. I'm happy to eat my words if this is not an accurate guess which I hope for his sake it isn't. Sad really - he's never been my most favourite person in the world but I've had to admire he puts his whole self out there unphased by what other people will think of his stances and opinions. That's gutsy.

Yes doesn't he look dreadful...poor man...whether you agree with him on the many issues he fights or not you certainly wouldn't wish ill health on him.
He looked so emaciated and seemed to be struggling to speak ...lets hope he makes a speedy recovery :)

my friends and i think he may have aids, just by looking at him,we could be totally wrong, i guess he'll tell when he's ready.

I don't think it is aids (just by going by what I have read) but wouldn't it be ironic if it was after he accused Graham Kennedy of having it.

I saw Derryn Hinch the other day on Tv and he really looks dreadful. I feel for him, he may open his mouth too much but he is passionate about what he says.
