I wonder what is going on with our forces? This afternoon I was helping the kids with their homework when out of the blue two jets BOOMED over our house. Boy did they scare the sh.t :headh: out of us. One of my kids jumped into my lap. We went outside to see if we could see them but they were long gone. They did the same thing about five times, they were so close, that if they had of tipped their wings they would of hit the house.

Later on I was talking to my nephew over in cootamundra and he said that there have been helicopters flying over there all afternoon. Maybe they are getting ready for something. :shh:

Has anyone had any aircraft flying over their place?

Hi Shirl nice to see you back here!
Where do you live are you near a Defence Base of some sort?

Thanks Jen,
No I live near the navy bases. The nearest town is Nowra or Ulladulla and there isn't any airforce bases in either of those towns.

Its probably the RAAF doing exercises over the Navy base?
We get them all the time up here they now have to stop at 10pm because of all the complaints from the locals.
So if a war breaks out its down weapons at 10pm and come back in the morning!;)

I've lived here on and off for twenty years and they have never flown over. So that's why I'm wondering why now?

I have seen them flying along the coast when at the beach a number of times but not for about a year or so.
We never get planes overhead here just the occassional light aircraft.

I live near the Browns Plains army training ground and every now and again they have a major exercise and there are helicopters flying over the house every hour or so. The first time I always nearly shite myself cause it feels like they are nearly ontop of the house and then after that I'm okay so I know how you feel. Once or twice a year they do a fly over from Amberley Air Force base and man those planes can make a racket when they break the sound barrier. Fun to watch though.

Yeah they really did make a big noise. Every time they flew over after their first I would run out to see if I could see them but they were just too fast. But the last time they were so close it wasn't funny, we live in a 2 story house and my DD looked out her bedroom window and there they were, my god so close. There was four of them taking turn about flying over, you could hear them flying back around to do another fly by. The kids all got very excited after they got over the shock of the first time they flew over.
They haven't been over today, maybe they got into a bit of trouble flying so close to houses.

Shirl, as a kid in the 50's we used to have them flying over often, we loved it. They were so low. It was very common back then.
