I am very excited Patric :D I have travelled all around Australia but have never been O/S.. So we are starting somewhere that is cheap and not too far away :hehe: My parents are going to come too and probably my PIL's as well.

Sounds fab..be great to share the experience and have them to help out with DD too so that you and DH will get some together time..you will have to keep us all up to date with what you plan to see and where you will be staying so we can enjoy it vicariously :)

Rach You will love it, every thing is very cheap there, the islanders can't please you enough , in fact they actually start to piss you off :) it is a great place to go , but don't wonder away from resorts , a very different Bali to the pamphlets,
lucky you and enjoy , I did

My MIL is a little scared to go too. The last time my brother was there he was in his hotel room and totally freaked out as he could hear loud explosion type noises- he rang reception to ask what was going on and he was informed that it was just fireworks outside as part of some festival!
I just figure that if acts of terrorism can happen in NYC and London then it can happen anywhere :dk:

that's true rach, but you can't just not go and enjoy yourself because of fear..we went to haiti, which was one of the stops we did on the cruise i went on a few years back-supposedly there was a war going on there, not the part we were going to visit though, and then we found out we might not even go there due to it..we ended up going and everything was fine. it was very beautiful there.

Rach, it is a a great place, cheap, colourful, great food, cheap alcohol and warm and friendly locals, stay at a resort, where your on a package deal, that includes breakfast and some activites, I loved Bali and have been there twice, once with my ex when we lived in Perth (only 4 hours from there) and another time with my friend from Perth, her dad works for a mining company there and we stayed at his place with servents, god it was amazing.
Your going to have a wonderful and fantastic time. What time of year are you looking at going? The locals will love Darcie. The shopping is to die for.

Cherie I think it is popular not only because it is beautiful but because it is closer and much cheaper than going to other tropical islands.
Rach I've never been to Bali but a couple of workmates went there for their honeymoon. One of them stayed at Sienna Villas, which they said was really nice. I think the price was nice too judging by their photos of the place. :hehe:

Alexa- we will probably go in September I think.. possibly August. My FIL wants to go while it is cold here.. I just don't want to go during school holidays. I have been meaning to check out the weather there.
Stormy- Wow I just looked up those Sienna Villa's they are only from $400 a night!! :hehe: Looks gorgeous though :D

i had a look too. i think it said 4 or 3 bedroom villa for one night was like 700? if you're splitting the costs for one family per room it's still ALOT! i wouldn't mind staying there though, if i had the money! :)

Make sure you go to Ubud - up in the mountains - it's very pretty, totally different from the beach areas like Kuta.
