A litltle back ground. I brought a kitten from a breeder to realise later she was inbreed. By that time I fell inlove with her and had to have her. 4 years on she has some major problems, poor little thing. We have 2 other cats and one of the trys to attack her. Its just a male trying to show her whos boss but shes terrified of him. Although has lately been coming out sometimes and they can sleep on the bed together when I am there. Anyway she suffers from major anxity. This happened before we took on the male cat. So the vet told me to keep her in our bedroom, we have her kitty litter and food in our unsuit and she usually just hangs out in the cupboard or the bed, She sleeps with me every night.

Hubby has just had a operation and we have been told because of his sinus we need to keep our bedroom a cat free room. So this is where the trouble starts. I was originally going to stay in tgere and hubby was going to move into the spare room but thinking about it it wont do our marriage very well i dont think, being so young and all.

So hubby wants to move our bed into one of our spare rooms and keep the pc room like it is and move the single bed into our now bedroom. His thoughts are I can watch tv and have the laptop in there when i want at night, as I usually watch tv in bed. This way I will still be spending time with the cat.
But I want to move all the pc's into our new bedroom but he thinks that will stress her out more and then the other cats dont have any room.

I dont know what to do. I feel so sorry for her that she wont have much company as it wont be our bedroom anymore. What would you do. I thought i would ask seeming we have have a few cat lovers

well funny you mention that I am going to ring them tommorrow and see what he thinks, but wanted to ask you gils as well.

We also have a dog who is very attached to me, she does not shed hair so she is coming with us. She wont sleep anywhere unless its beside me :( but i love her for it :)

Have you thought of isolating the male, since he appears to be the troublemaker?? Another thing to keep in mind, is it going to be a permanent arrangement or is it just a temporary thing while he recovers from his operation? :dk:

I would be inclined to move the beds rather than the cat. I don't think changing the bigger bed for a smaller one would stress her out too much although I would pop her in the ensuite by herself while you are doing the moves. I think it would be more the scent (i.e. from sleeping in the bed etc) that will bother her about the bed move so make sure you put some worn clothing in the new bed so it doesn't stress her out too much....

Is a move for good. The male cat had made the situation worse, but saying that she has always had anxity. I couldnt let the male cat live on the streets like it was basically doing. I just couldnt.

I spoke to the vet this morning. he said she will be fine in our bedroom and just to put the single bed in there. I said I was really worried because she sleeps with me everynight but he asured me she will get used to it and she loves being alone anyway so it will al work out for the better.

i will just watch tv in there every night and put the pc in there so i spend a few hours with her every day.
