Finger swollen

Hi Girls, if anyone is online and reading this now, it is 8pm Tuesday night, I need some advice, My wedding ring finger obviously has been biten by something and has swollen so bad, i managed to get my engagement ring of but no way in hell can i get my wedding ring off, it has cut the circulation, and my finger is not looking good, I dont want to get it cut off. I have tried ice to get the swelling down but to no avail, any tips???? Help cos i dont want to cut it off...

can you rub vaseline on your finger to get it to slip off

even lots of thick soap or hand cream but not sure what to use to get the swelling down
could you run the cold tap on your hand to get the swelling down

damm no vaseline, have tried the soap thing it is that swollen u should see it, I look abnormal lol

DH seems to think if your finger is that swollen you may need to get that down before your ring will budge, would your neighbour have vaseline? although DH is still saying to get the swelling down. he has no idea what you can do to get the swelling down but did say to give the ambo's a call. good luck

I would try oil.. lol i dont know what good it d do but i would still try it... Then i would get myself off to the dr.

Have you tried holding your fingers in ice water..it may take swelling down.
Have you got a good hand cream, that can help after swelling has gone down.

tried everything girls, rang the hospital they said come in and we will cut it off, NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO so rang hubby (he is on night shift) he is going to come home and cut it off, i am crying, but as the nurse and my mum just said i can replace a wedding ring but not a finger................ just so depressed about this as it was our 1st year wedding anniversary yesterday, hope this is not a bad omen.

Bugger the ring, I would have just cut the damn thing off straight away....it's not worth losing a finger over. :uhno: I hope all is well now :fx:

I agree...you can replace a ring but you can't your finger...:( hope it all worked out ok :)

thanks girls for all yur advice and support, well hubby got home and i had my finger in a bucket of ice the swelling had come down a tiny little bit allowing me to at least move it slightly, so he pushed it up as far as it would go allowing me to have a little bit of comfort, then back in the ice for another 2 hours and the swelling came down a little bit more, i also elevated it whilst in the ice, he came home again to check on it and was quite happy with it, as in the first time he came home there was no room to even get anything under there to cut it off. So this morning he got home at 5 and woke me straight up to look and it had come down a bit more, still is really swollen and still cant get the ring off but at least i can move it, so YAYYYY i got to keep my finger as well as my ring LOL,

LOL girls, i did not come back on cos i had my finger in a bucket of ice and elevated, awwwww thanks for the concern .lmao
