Okay maybe I'm not brushiing my dishwasher's teeth enough :P But it has a bit of yucky breath at the moment :eww:

I've cleaned the filters and thingies and there's no yucky things in there that could cause the smell so I'm thinking maybe it's in a part of the dishwasher I can't get to? I'm wondering whether a short cycle with vinegar and bicarb will help although I do that on a frequent basis anyway. I remember seeing an ad on TV for dishwashers and bad breath but I can't remember what the product is called that is supposed to fix it. :dk:

Well for the record, a LIBERAL dosing of bicarb and vinegar will do the trick. :hehe:

Maybe I just needed to up the ante :D

There's a 'thingie' (LMAO) you buy in the supermarket now that cleans it. It's blue and in a smallish bottle - can't think what it's called or the brand - been advertising on tv though. Anyway, I bought it recently as I was having the same problem and it actually worked!

Yes Kerrie that is the thingie that I was after but couldn't remember the name of :hehe:

Mesmer we have a Smeg dishwasher.....I don't think I would be inclined to go with them again. It's simple enough to use and the filter is easy to clean but sometimes it gets stuck mid cycle and the damn thing will go for hours and hours and not progress to the next stage which wastes a LOT of water if you're not home or asleep while it's on. It doesn't do it all the time, just enough to make it unreliable and god knows I hate things that are unreliable. :uhno: Next time I think we'll go with a Miele (http://www.miele.com.au/index1.asp?page=http%3A//www.miele.com.au/news/article13.htm) because it has a sensor on it that alters the temperature of the water, flow rate and cycle length depending on how heavily soiled the dishes are. :)

I clean mine with a dishwasher cleaner once a month or so. Woolies have there own brand which works well and its about the same as the finish one. U just peel the foil off, put upside down in ur cutlery holder and turn on. and as the dishwasher gets hotter it melts away the cover and then it does its cleaning thing.
