Sorry I missed the chat tonight.
There is a little boy missing at Forest Lake in the park area.
I live near there, so we went down to help out. 3/4 of Forest Lake was there too.
The little boy is about 4 years old. Went missing at about 3.15pm and we have just come back from there and they have searched the lake, have heaps of SES and Police but no sign of the little boy.
So very sad.
His mother is a single mum apparently.
It was very upsetting. I've never seen anything like that in real life. Hope I never have to again.
Will have to wait for the morning to find out if there is any news.

When you hear it on the news it doesn't have the same impact; hope they find the little boy.

Hi people.
Yes, they found his body in the lake at about midnight. His name was Nathan, he was 3 years old.
I posted a thread in EMail Cash asking for good thoughts and prayers for his family. I heard it on the news this morning, then went into the thread. It's amazing how many people care. I don't know if you can get into EMail Cash but the thread is under my user name in there which is blackgemini. I will see if I can put it in here so you can read it but I'm not too good at these things.

Someone has posted a photo of him in there too and that just makes me sadder. The poor parents.

I watched it on the news tonight. We saw the camera crews there and what they were doing, but to relive it was another thing. It is just awful when you've been involved in something like that. Not at all the same as just watching it on TV when you haven't been there. I cried like a baby. I just felt so much for the parents (and the little boy of course). I could feel their hurt when we arrived there. Physically felt it. It took me all my time not to burst into tears while we were there. Naga (daughter) was with me of course. All she wanted to do was jump into the water and help look for him. I think if she had other clothes on she would have.
He was a beautiful looking child too.
I overheard a friend of the mother's telling people that she and her husband had just separated too. God, could it get much worse for them!!!
OK. Can't see to type anymore.
Bye

It is just so sad, there are no real words for it.
I feel for you and Naga and everyone else involved in the search. For the mother and father and the rest of his family. It is so sad. Only 3 years old...

such a tragic sad loss ,makes one sorry for grumping about little things in life, thinking of you to Bev, know what it's like to be involved, we have a house on a wild coast line, very isolated, with no neighbours, many times we got phone calls at all hours asking us to look for someone's loved one that had not returned home from a day fishing, and sadly more often than not, we would have to call back with sad news, so a hug to you I know how it feels,
so sorry for the family of the little boy.

Yomamma - Thank you for asking how I am. I wasn't real good yesterday. I felt really 'heavy' and sad. Today I feel OK, but mind keeps wandering off to the other night sometimes. I really hope his parents are coping. His mother has said in an initial interview that she didn't know what she would do without him. I really, really hope that she has someone who can help her.
Di Nana - I have no idea how you do it. I would be a bloody mess. I guess if you're able to do something instead of just standing by it would make it a bit easier. The feeling of uselessness is awful. Thanks for your kind words and the hug.
Gina - No, I don't know either. I guess the strength comes from somewhere though because people usually DO get through it. He was a beautiful little boy wasn't he. From the interview I saw with the mother she seemed like a really decent, nice person. The little boy looked a bit like her. Dark hair and facial features. His dad is fair.
Thank you all so much for thinking of me in this situation. That is so kind of you.
I know that all of your thoughts are with the parents so with all of combined 'energy' that we are giving out to these people, it might make things a little bit easier. I hope so anyway.

When you think about it, must be so much worse for parents of missing children never found. There is always the question and no moving on.

Mejan - Naga (daughter) said that the other night while we were down at the lake. I had to think about it for a little while but then agreed with her. Both are bad but you're right, at least you know if the body is found. Terrible, terrible, terrible though!!!
