The Million Paws Walk (http://www.millionpawswalk.com) is on again this Sunday, May 19th at 70 locations all across Australia. You don't even need to have a dog to enjoy the day out - there are stalls to browse through of pet-related products and plenty of new friends to meet.
Last year, Mischa did her walk in Rockhampton and even had a big furry ginger cat for company - admittedly it only walked halfway. :P Online registrations for the events have now closed but you can still register and participate on the day. Check the Million Paws Walk website (http://www.millionpawswalk.com) for the start time for your local event - there is a small cost involved in registration but all funds go to support the RSPCA in providing services in your local area. :)

I didn't even realise it was on. Just checked the website and there is one happening not far from here (about 35 minutes away). Depending on what happens tomorrow, we might even head down there in the morning and check out some of the merchandise.

Yes well I didn't have a beanie but I did have my cap and cardy on :P Other less sensible people in my party decided it would be warm and didn't bring a jacket and of course they were quite cold. :hehe:
It was a great morning and yes, lots of butt sniffing and despite the overwhelming number of dogs and owners, only a few scuffles broke out. The only problem was the huge number of people registering on the day - far too many for the three to four RSPCA volunteers to cope with. But that means more $$$ for the RSPCA so I was more than happy to stand in line and wait. :)

Glad your home in the warmth now & good on you & everyone else that showed up & ofcourse we knew that you would be one of the sensible ones to take a jacket lol

Well done Kay :) I didn't end up going but am definitely doing it next time
I went online last night and looked at it all, and then went on to the adopt a pet site and cried for all the animals on there. I am such a sook. There were just so many and I wish I could have them all.
I'm glad there were a lot that turned up - it is for such a good cause.

Apparently it is generally around the same time each year....this is the first year I've had the day off for it, plus a dog to take as well. :hehe:
I saw a border collie on Animal Welfare League the other day....she looked so much like my friend Dougal who lived next door when I was a teenager. I just cried because Dougal was a pound puppy too....I would have loved to take her home but a tiny suburban backyard like we have just wouldn't be fair on a dog like that. :(
Nicole had a bad day at work today and was upset tonight!:comfort:
Cole I am proud of you and the job you are doing at the RSPCA I am surprised that you have lasted this long without getting upset!
I couldnt do your job!
You and your workmates are doing a great job and the animals love you for it!:hug:
