I had a surprise visit from my mother today (surprise because I didn't know she was coming, and she lives 500kms away, so not really "drop in" territory IYKWIM).
She was telling me that their next door neighbours moved out and left their cat behind. The poor thing was starving and surviving on goldfish from their (mother's) fishpond - which is gross in and of itself. It was also beating up their (mother's) cat so in the end she let the council know the cat had been abandoned and the council came and collected it.
That's bad enough right? BUT ... the council checked kitty's microchip, contacted the owners who came and collected the cat from the council AND RETURNED IT TO THE EMPTY HOUSE AND LEFT IT THERE AGAIN  Seriously, what kind of moron does that??!

What a bizarre mess, if the council found the owners once, wont they find them again and this time prosecute, when we lived on the farm so many city folk just bought there cats to the country and dumped them, so bloody sad,
What a surprise your mum turning up with out a word :) hope you were not still in your Pj's :hehe:

LOL no, I'd had a shower but hadn't dressed the kids yet (we were due to go out and if I dress them too early, they end up with breakfast all over their clothes so I have to change them anyway).

someone needs to go back there and collect the cat. and then contact the owners and let the owners know that they're taking the cat to a better environment.

oh no kekk. i wasn't trying to be rude or anything towards heather's comment. people want me to stop talking about the whole cat thing, yet it gets brought up, so i'm trying not to let it spoil my smile. :) (kind of confusing for me)

Kiki I realised that you were responding to Heather saying "the devil made me do it" and there was nothing nasty in either your or Heather's post- just friendly teasing!
Don't worry, I think Kekka just wanted an excuse to use that devil smilie more than anything else :hehe:

yes, in a bid to get back to the topic...
A lady was walking down my street a few months back looking for a black and white cat. She was worried as she hadn't seen it for a few days. She told us that the people that lived next door left without taking the cat, she didn't know what to do so she had been feeding it every day. I could never imagine moving and just leaving a pet behind :uhno:
Naomi that is so bizarre!
I am sure some people were standing behind the door when brains were handed out!!
Naomi I would be ringing the RSPCA & putting a complaint in that is just disgusting!!!

:O That is disgusting - I can't believe the council would even think of ringing the owners up and getting them to collect the cat. Bloody *&*^&&^*(@^&#$^@ - that makes me so mad x( I hope the RSPCA does get hold of them and prosecute x(

A few years ago one of my cats, who has since passed away was acquired through abandonment, she was a beautiful cat a perfect little tabby cat called Chloe still miss her even though she's been gone for years now, I know what I'd like to do to people like that, even if they don't want the cat why can't they have the decency to at least take it to an animal shelter, how hard is that are their brains in their bum.
Naomi has yoru Mum rang the RSPCA?
