I feel bad for those on very limited incomes and dependant upon a car....it worries me that people will forgo necessary maintenance or insurance on their cars so that they can afford the petrol.

If they do that Heather, it won't be long before they have either more expensive repairs/services or fail their warrant of fitness. :dk:

Under my salary sacrifice agreement, they've budgeted for fuel up to $2.50/L. At the time, I just laughed but now I think maybe it was quite sensible.

Thing is though Alexa it effects us all, as the cost of freight forces the cost of living to go up to,
It is over the $2.00 here went up twice this week and no end in sight.

I was wondering what it would be like over there Di....when we visited in 2004, the most expensive fuel we bought was in Hokitika for $1.65/L. I remember at the time thinking it was outrageous but the owner said that the German tourists were thanking their lucky stars that it was so cheap! :O

I shudder to think what the Germans are paying now.

It was 166.9/L when I was in Margaret River today. I'm glad we were in DP's work car and not paying for it :hehe:

Apparently there is some island off the coast of the Northern Territory where residents can still fuel up for around $1/L. Astonishingly, most of them are employees of BHP Billiton.

$1.51 yesterday where i live.. i feel lucky my $20 worth lasts me almost a month anyway.. and we are so lucky husband's company pays for his petrol! with his long commute, we couldn't afford for him to go to work otherwise...

Just filled up - 141.9 at BP Springwood. Normally i use a Coles fuel docket (or the Wollies card) but i was dead empty and didn't think i'd make it to the next servo.
