I am no cook and probably not the best one to advise you , but yes I toast the bread first and i don't think it matters grill or oven , grill maybe quicker

rat bait and mouse traps !!! what funny names never heard it called that before. Well i made it this afternoon and it actually turned out delicous. I toasted the toast slightly and then put the mixture on (cheese and bacon bites and pretty much a bit of each sauce i had in the house and some herbs) and put it under the grill! b/f passed the taste test so it will be good enough for him

I haven't heard of it either. Sounds good though, what are all the ingredients?

oh ok well this is how i made it - first time ive made it and i just guessed the ingredients
but basically you need
bacon pieces and grated cheese and then you mix that with sauce (like tomato, worcestershire , bbq, sweet chilli - just a bit of whatever you have) and add some spices.
then i spread it on lightly toasted bread and put it under the grill until it had all melted.
some people use egg and others dont toast the bread and cook it in the oven!
Mine was yummy ill definetly make it again.

Yep thats rat bait,I have done it with soy sauce or a pct. of french onion soup,or some chopped onion.I bake mine for 20 mins in a mod. oven.Check the bottom of the bread it should be golden brown. It can be reheated in the oven.Oh, I butter both sides of the bread as well.
