I wanst sure what section to put this in?
Anyway my Sis was telling me she was talking to a lady who lives near her.
The lady and her friend do a lot of bushwalking in the area.
They were walking last week through the bush close to home and the birds were making a ruccus in the trees.
The bush is full of wallabies and cassowaries.
As they were walking a snake ( I gather a python) fell out of the tree near them and landed on top of a wallaby.
The two ladies shit themselves unsure what to do?
Then they saw that the wallaby had a joey in her pouch she pushed the joey away.
The ladies picked up the joey and ran home and called the wildlife people who came and got it.
They went back the next day the snake was still there digesting the wallaby it took 2 days for it to finish it!
Isnt that the saddest thing you have ever heard!;(

Oh Yes, I second that...I am scared of snakes.
I remember seeing them at "Eric Worrells" years ago, they were feeding on baby chickens..it was awful to see.

I have a snake phobia. When I was about 6 my dad was digging out a trench behind the house and found a piece of black hose. He threw it at me saying" look, a snake". It hit me in the chest and since then I can't even see them on TV. :uhno: I would have passed out for sure if I was there. How horrible!

Well, Zen, I've seen both many times - so stay away Di! LMAO

What a freak thing to happen! So great they thought to pick up the joey :) I'm not a fan of snakes, but I'd much rather encounter a python than some of the more deadly varieties! :)

Snakes have to eat too :)

They're an important part of the ecosystem. Not many people like having rats and mice around their homes, snakes keep mice and rat levels down :)

Good gravy! How big must that python have been??? I mean, a wallaby?? That's like eating your average kelpie ... Mind boggling.

I know what you mean (I hate watching those Animal Kingdom shows where you see the lion chasing, then eating the gazelle etc ...) but don't be too hard on the snake girls! (After all, how many of us are vegetarian? ha ha)

In this week's local paper they had a cute little grey kitten on the front page that fell from the sky - out of an eagle's talons they think. Kitty was a bit scratched up but OK.
