Hi Gils, Well went back to the Dr today for Bays results on his UTI, it is clear :y:, but he still has to see a specialist ( the dr said he is not happy that he had that bug in the first place), think I need to ask Stormy more Questions, ( Dont run Kay LMAO)...Anyhow that is the good news,,, The Bad news is Bay had to have a xray on his mouth for the dentist, went there today and he is so over crowded in the mouth up the top, the teeth next to the 2 front ones on both sides need to be removed to allow for the other ones to come down, THEY ARE HUGE, he does have big teeth.... Then cos he has so many more teeth coming down and not enough room he seems to think they will require BRACES , so got a referral to a orthontodist for the 24th of this month to see if he thinks he will need braces... Grrr if it is not one thing it is another....LMAO

Thats great news Linda, what a big relief!!! :D
About the braces, my DD has them on and they have done wonders, her teeth are absolutely beautiful!! And they let you pay them off like a layby!!, which is even better, so don't stress :)

great news with the UTI! :)
as for braces, my sister had to get 4 teeth pulled and then braces on. she was still in high school with braces, hated that fact, so the earlier the better! :hehe: her teeth are gorgeous and her smile is amazing! becca and richie both need to get braces. we have to wait another year or two for most of their baby teeth to fall out before. :)

That outcome isn't that bad Mes. It's manageable even though it's expensive for you and painful for your DS. Does that make sense? ()

LMAO @ u girls... I am so thankful about the UTI,, and really stressed about the braces, and u got it in one Ness the cost... I didnt know u can do the "LAY BY " THING that would be fantastic... BUT ot sure if i mentioned it Bay has the straightest teeth now but the dentist thinks he wont when those other ones come down... We all ( my family) have really nice teeth, and so does Bay, so am in a bit of shock cos of what the dentist said...
Sorry Di just got yr reply .. Yes I am so happy it is, I am over the moon, that is the best news I have had in years...

I am glad that the UTI is all clear :)
I had braces due to overcrowding and had 4 teeth removed before getting them fitted.. It was really no big deal for me as a kid as heaps of other people had them too :D It was painful for a few days every time I got them tightened and once I got them off I had to wear a retainer (was supposed to be for 2 years or something but I didn't and now some of my teeth are crooked again  )
My parents private health fund payed for most of it but for the remainder they were able to pay it off in installments over the 2 years I had them on.

Hi Mes! Glad to hear the good new on the UTI. :)
How old is Bailey? I wonder if they could still do early intervention with
an expansion appliance? I would ask about it. He may still require
braces but it would cut down the time. :D

Hi Mes - great the UTI results are good :) A for the braces and teeth pulle d- my eldest had the straightest teeth and small gaps between (ie, lots of space for her adult teeth). Unfortunately, her adult teeth are enormous and her mouth hasn't yet grown to accommodate them. The dentist we see is also a friend and she wants to wait and see hat happens over the next couple of years before pulling teeth. DD is 9 years old. The dentist said that some of the newer theories are to wait and see rather than to simply pull and fix with braces. Don't know if you want to go for a second opinion with another dentis or if you're happy with your current one's thoughts - but just an idea. Each child is obviosuly different and maybe Bailey's teeth do need to come out...

isn't bailey 9 or 10? i also would wait it out and not rush into the whole braces thing-i'm sure most of his teeth fell out, but still a few more might fall out..

Good news about the UTI.
I had braces, clear ones in fact, had then when I was 14 to 16, no big deal apart from when they are tightened...OMG, but hey it is all part of being a teenager, I would wait a few years till all his teeth come down.
My dad just paid as you go; it was one of the best things I had done.

I had braces quite late (19/20) as every time I went near a dentist or dental specialist they wanted to do university papers on my mouth - such an interesting bite is really not the most flattering thing in the world - and then mentioned surgery and I headed for the hills!!!
Both my siblings also had braces - the joy of a large-toothed mother and a narrow(but long)-jawed father, hey?
Therefore we had our own orthodontist who even came on holiday to my parent's property! As we had private health, he always worked out his bills so we would get maximum rebate, but I know that many do lay-by sort of deals - they have to create "care plans" for private health funds anyway, so getting them to be up front about costs and timing is part of their job.
Good luck on getting a good one.
