...DS has asked me to make chicken salad wraps .I have never had much success with this before either the wrap breaks when rolled up or its soggy by lunch break. What is the best brand of wrap bread to buy ?and any hints on fillings would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

i love salad wraps! i usually buy the mountain bread wraps, they are thinner than some of the others but they are a nice size. i find if you put the filling in the middle, then fold up the bottom and then the sides it tends not to break as easy. I also find it useful to wrap seperatly the bottom half of the wrap in cling wrap then another piece for the top, then the top piece can be taken off and the wrap can be eaten whilst still in the bottom piece of cling wrap to stop it all from falling it apart!
As for filling i put in chicken, lettuce, tomato, onion, capsicum and carrot and i dont usually have any problems with it going soggy you wold just have to make sure that the lettuce and other fillings aren't wet when you put them in and also beetroot is one to make stuff soggy!
hope that helps

if you maybe put in some type of dressing, that's probably what's causing it to get soggy.
i actually had a great wrap yesterday for lunch-it was ham, salad, tomato, cheese, yum!

We use Bazaar Lebanese Bread or Tortillas all the time.
I put a dry layer (shredded lettuce) and then other salad ingredients and then meat and whatever dressing along the middle before wrapping as amyamz said.
Another way is to melt cheese and meat onto the flatbread in the microwave, add the salads and then roll and grill - my partner's way (although he also adds lashings of salt and pepper) - the toasting gives it a nice crunch.

I make wraps using ham lettuce, pineapple, corn and mayo, but I have to make sure that I have drained to pineapple well first, after a soggy incident ......

Often make the TT cheese and shredded carrot wraps for school linch....the carrot keeps the whole thing moist. I do cut them in half and wrap each separately in clingwrap....with it twisted at the top to make it easier for the poor little male to open.

Why not send the filling in a seperate dish and he can put it together with the wrap at lunch?
