Has anyone read this book??

If so, what did you think of it?

My MIL gave it to me before she left this morning and she thought it was really good.

I have got about 3 books I am reading at the moment so I am going to read this when I have finished the other books. :)

Barbara, is that book about a cop who gets sent to Plum Island to investigate a murder???? I just went and scoured my book shelves and obviously it was a book I took out from the library and If I'm correct, it was quite interesting at first.....got a little tedious in the middle and then whoa got a a beauty in the end. Once i got over the boring bits in from about the middle to 3/4 through it just had me gripped and then I was shocked.
If on the other hand I'm thinking of a totally other book with a plum in it, or an island, I'm sorry, and you'll have to tell me what it's really about.:D .
Happy Reading
Cheers

I think it might be the one where the cop gets sent to Plum Island.

The back of the book reads:

"Wounded in the line of duty, NYPD detective John Corey is convalescing on Long Island when Tom and Judy Gordon are found murdered on their patio. Corey knew the young attractive couple, and Sylvester Maxwell, the local police chief, wants his big city expertise. Maxwell, however, gets more than he bargained for.

The early signs point to a burglary gone wrong, but because the Gordons were biologists at Plum Island, the off-shore animal disease research site rumoured tobe involved in germ warfare, it isn't long before the media is suggesting that the dead couple stole something very deadly.

John Corey's investgations lead him into the lore, legends and ancient secrets of Northern Long Island. But they are secrets more dangerous than he could ever have imagined - and he becomes trapped in a crime with global implications......"

Nope not the one I was thinking about Sorry:)
But I'm pretty sure I've read it and unfortunately if it's not on my bookshelf it wasn't good enough for me to keep so that means I'm not likely to read it again and that means maybe it was okay to downright bad. Sorry again:D .
You see if I really like a book I keep it and read it again and if I don't I give it away to charity or library almost straight away cause I have limited space.
Hey give it a go anyway and post the review when ya finish it hey.
Cheers

PS Now I'm gonna be wracking my brains trying to remember what the other book was called that I thought was Plum Island.
