I have hit this stage in my life, where I just feel so blah.... I just cant explain how I feel. Everything else in life is going well, like my job and friends etc.
Now with my kitty and mum, well I suppose I feel really quiet down. i cant explain it. I just feel so blah and i hate it..
I cant stop smoking, I cant lose wight and now I am down about this.
I went to a party today and after i left I realised I didnt say goodbye to anyone apart from the host. That is so rude and I would never normally dream about that. I am going to bed like at 8pm every night, when I normally go at 10ish and i just dont want to see anyone..
whats happening to me?

How old are you Holly?
I felt like that when I was about 35, It was like I virtually took another path in my life.
My home life was ok , but I just changed. Like growing up overnight. It changed for me in a good way ..I wasn't a smoker though..

Do you live near a gym, or can you play a sport like Tennis,. I found it was really easy to lift your spirits when doing this.:)

It's true, exercise does help you to feel better. And you'll lose weight too, a double bonus.
I go through phases of feeling out of kilter with everything.
I wouldn't worry too much about forgetting to say goodbye to people, as long as it isn't a habit I'm sure people won't be offended by a once-off.

Well I am going to be devil's advocate and suggest you eat a little chocolate.....it raises your serotonin levels and if they are low, then it makes you feel better. Or you could take up a sport which I've heard achieves the same thing. :)
If it's any consolation Holly, we're the same age and I'm battling some of the same problems at the moment (minus the smoking). I'm convincing myself it is a phase and it will pass....I hope it does for you too.

Step 1.....get a good nights sleep.
Step 2.....have a good breakfast.
Step 3.....go for a walk and think about a new hobby, what interests you.
Step 4.....buy yourself some nice chocolate and eat as much as you want....no sharing.
Step 5.....talk to others about how you feel, do not bottle it up.
Step 6.....do things for you.

The other possibility is the seven year cycle thing ... I don't know much about it, but someone mentioned it to me when I went through something similar at the age of ..... 28. Something to do with body chemistry or something? :dk:

thanks girls. I know this feeling will pass.. Way to much inof but i think I am also due for my monthly's.. so that would be a big part of it..
I just had a bath and hubby washed my back, was very relaxing.. I got thinking in there and I saw this scrap booking photo album in spotlight the other day for your animals. so I might go threw our pics and get some printed out and make that a little project for me. and if its not raining tommorrow I am going to have breaky then go for a walk with the dog... She will love that too.
I suppose one big thing getting me down in my weight so tommorrow is a new day and I am going to really try this time because if i dont do it now I never will and I will continue feeling this way....

holly i think we all go through it at times don't let it worry you too much & yes you do need to get yourself up & get outside of the house, call a GF & have a day out or go to the movie with your GF whenever you feel lousy get up & go for a long walk do anything as long as you do something

Holly I went through a stage of complete blah too. It was horrible. Mine had alot to do with being away from family etc for afew years. It really took a terrible toll on me.
But anyway.... I changed the way I did afew things.
*First up I started walking for a hour every morning with my oldest son. We would leave at 6am, and get back at just the right time to wake up the other kids for school.
*I cut back on fizzy drinks and chocolate for a long time. I still don't drink bugger all fizzy, but I can't live without my chocolate :jump: I noticed it did actually make a huge difference.
I gave up smoking yet again when I was preg with my last baby, and haven't looked back on that one. It was really hard. I pretty much just surrounded myself with people who didn't smoke for about 3 months. That seemed to be the key for me. I couldn't be around people who smoked or I smoked. One day at a time if you want to give up. One day without a ciggy is a huge step :) And that in itself was a huge unblah-er for me!
Making the effort to do simple little things FOR ME made a hell of a difference.

the way your feeling holly does not sound much fun i hope your able to get past this. I think like others have mentioned that finding some time to do things you enjoy will hopefully take your mind off all the not so nice things and also going for walks will help you feel more energetic. Scrapbooking is a great thing to do, i find it very relaxing.

Instead of just telling me to snap out of it , and think of someone worse off,
Oh yeah great mum, Joe Blogs down the road has no legs, wow that has cheered me up, or poor Mrs Whats her Name hubby just kicked the bucket, shit I feel miles better now :headh:

Nice to see you feeling better Holly.
I honestly feel the same way sometimes as well. A week before my period is due my hormones are all over the place.....
A walk in the morning is a great idea, it really gets you motivated for the whole day....maybe I should start doing that:hehe:

At least I can take some heart seeing there are others too who have also suffered or are suffering as I am. When everything else seems to be going fine its strange indeed that I am in a low. My caring husband has tried his best to solve the issue for me but without any help. Again my kids are not the type who give trouble to their parents so in any angle you look at my life it should have been a world where peace reigns. Yet I feel disturbed getting less of sleep and devoid of any motivation to perform exercises. I cant get a clue of the ways with which I can overcome this problem. Hope the suggestions and advices that I read upon coming to this place would help me in some way.
