do you have a routine when you clean the house? I clean on the weekends, like dust do the washing etc, and during the week just make sure the house is tidy enough so i dont stress about it in the morning..

I feel like I am forever cleaning...

whats your routine?

I clean and wash everyday. I have specific routine just whatever needs doing on whatever particular day....except sheet changing, that is normally a weekend job.:)

I don't have an exact routine.. I wish I did though but I just do what needs doing no matter what the day.. and obviously just do the usual washing, tidying and vaccuuming etc every day :)

I get up around 5am every day and do it all before 9am. Then I can go do what I want.
Been doing it for years..:D

Yeah I guess my routine sort of entails starting at one end of the house and working my way forward/back - with LOUD music to ease the pain :-)

i also do the loud music to keep me going! :hehe: and same here. i do most of the big stuff during the weekend and then just keep everything tidy everyday. i'll sweep everyday, dishes obviously, etc. but the bigger things like mopping and dusting everything is a weekend clean.

I am clean freak and can't sit down unless everything is in its place, is clean, and tidy

I wash clothes & iron every day, dust & vacuum on Monday, Wed & Frid - wash the floors on a Mon & Fri and do windows once a fortnight usually on a Wed. Bathrooms get done on a Mon & Fri, sheets get changed every 5 days. I sweep outside every 2 days and ..... oh gosh, I better stop there

:shh: I can see Kekka shaking her head at me about now :hehe:

You know, I can't even leave the house or go to bed until I have checked everything is in good order LOL

I am the same Barb, Always have to have that one last check before I go to bed.. Yes it's annoying, but I have to do it. Have tried to ignore it, but ended up getting up and fixing it ,then going back to bed.lol :hehe:

try to keep the weekends as free as possible - not always easy! but easier now that i'm not working :hehe: i wash, etc every day, do bathrooms when having a shower or kids in the bath, vacuum every other moment, mop floors when everyone is out or asleep... so all over the place really - and yes, feel like i'm forever cleaning!

barb - please, please, please come and visit! my house is a shambles and the kids keep waking up early :hehe:

i just do what needs doing when i notice it needs doing.. if i am lucky, i don't notice anything some days! lol.. have a short morning routine which involves making sure all is tidy, bathroom nice, kitchen clean, cat stuff done (bowls and tray, and lint roller over all of Archibald's sleeping spots) and a quick vac over all the floors with the handheld on a stick.. wash when i have a full load.. i always leave weekends free, apart from that morning stuff.

Dust vaccum and mop on Saturday mornings and do a load of washing of sheets and towels

Wash pretty much every third day

Have an ironing lady and I get my windows professionally cleaned (once every six months)

Can not sleep till all the washing up is done and nothing left lying around

Bed made the minute I get out of it

Bathroom cleaned on Sunday afternoon

Mow lawns and tidy up outside once a fortnight

barbara-you're just like my mom! i don't want to say you're anal, maybe you are, lol, but my mom is the worst with cleaning. everything is so neat in her house. how do you manage with your kids?! there's just some days where i'm so lazy and don't even want to tidy up and yet you do everything every 5 days..gosh, i feel gross now, lol.

I suspect Barbara has trained hubby and kids very well to be minimalist mess makers :hehe:

I don't have a routine at all....and there is always something I would rather do than clean. Except for the bathrooms and toilets, they have to be clean. If I see they are not clean, I will give them the once over then and there so it doesn't escalate into a huge job later down the track. :)

I do try LMAO - Although when it doesn't work - they soon all know about it!!

Cherie, I'm glad there is someone out there like me :hehe: I can't even walk past a pair of shoes without straightening them up  And yes, I have also gotten back out of bed because something was bothering me LMAO

I do my big cleaning on Saturday or Sunday. I start at one end of the house, removing all items that don't belong in a room and placing them in a laundry basket, de-cluttering,dusting, vaccuming , organizing. I continue through the house until I'm done, then I sort through and empty the basket of "stuff" and put it where it belongs. By the time I'm done, I can start over again because my 3 and 6 year olds just decided to build a fort for ll their toys in the living room :D My family never puts things back where they got them from, so I am constantly cleaning up after them.

I have discovered a whole ecosystem is living in my house and I don't wish to be guilty in their History books of genocide.

I'm not shaking my head Barbara...I'm smiling. Your place does look beautiful.

Sometimes I wish I had more discipline but basically do as little as possible!

Time for my poll on stacking cutlery in the near future......LMAO

You'll have to explain that cutlery theory at some stage.....I must have missed it the first time. :hehe:

OMG Barb, don't even mention the shoes. Four people live here and only one of them knows how and where to put them near the door.Sooooo frustrating!
Instead of thinking I will die from overwork...I am now thinking I will have to live a long time, just so's they have someone to look after them. Geez!LMAO
