What a purty pair they are too! How do you tell which is which? Have they been hand reared? They look quite smart and a bit cheeky.

we can tell the difference as the male (Popeye) has a black ring around his neck female ring necks don't get that.
I went into the cage today to put in some corn for them & olive the typical Female decided she wanted to get out & be nosey i eventually got her back in her cage, if i didn't have to go & get my daughter i would have just let her wander.
Olive loves the TV she sits there & watches the tv & if your in her way she try's to look around you & then she will stare you out till you move, she's really funny, she loves being the boss of the two ( it's a female thing my hubby said :hehe: cheeky he is.) She also loves hanging upside down from the top of the cage.
= She's more out going than the male, he's more quite & easy going.
They were in an aviary with what we can guess.
What happen was we were looking at them as i seen these birds before & thought i might get one. Then we went to our local market & seen these two & i fell in love with them right away(love at first sight ) so we got them, then we had to go & buy a cage then, but in the pet shops they are asking anywhere from $200 up. we only paid $60 for the two.
I just had to give them a home so now we just have to train them to come out of the cage & how to get back in by themselves.

Ringnecks are lovely birds....I'm awfully fond of the blue variety but with two birdcages already, I just couldn't face getting another pair. :hehe:

My hubby breeds birds we have an aviary with ringnecks in them we have some yellows, some greens and some splits the greens are in with our cockatiels the yellows are by themselves they seem to be more flighty than the others, they are better than a guard dog anything comes in the yard they screech their little beaks off, we also have some rainbow lorikeets, we are not breeding many now we usually end up keeping any babies we get now, used to sell the odd one usually to people we know.
