View Full Version : Couch to 5k's anyone? Please do this with me!!

I heard about this on another forum, and would love to do it. I don't run, so I would be starting from scratch. I also don't own a treadmill, so I'd have to go out in public to do it! :sheep: The program is over a nine week period, and get's you finally up to running 5km's.

Anybody else interested in starting from scratch with me?
My reasons for doing it: I'm not overweight, but I'm not fit & as healthy as I should be (although getting rid of 5 pesky kg's I gained from my last baby would be a bonus to lose LOL). The fresh air would also be a great thing to start my day, rather than getting in my daily 6am dose of Y&R on tele before the kids get up LMAO
How come I can't get the hypherlink doovalacky button to work for me?

I am new to the chat site, and it has been a while since I chatted. I thought your thread was interesting. Are you still looking for someone to buddy run with you?
The reason I need to do this are:-
I am overweight. I need to be healthier. I think exercising makes you feel better, and I need a good reason to get moving.
When would you like to start, or have you already started?

i just looked on the website and those podcasts look interesting! i am a bit overweight and have joined a boot camp in which i have improved my health quite a bit and i can actually run at least 1km without stopping which i couldn't have done a couple of weeks ago so hopefully it wont be long and ill be able to run 5km!

Am just about to do DDs bday cake, but will hopfully get back to this tonight :D
I haven't started yet.... I was thinking July 1st as my day 1 :)
And I would love for people to join me in it.

Sunny, as you know I do not run (don't want to scare folks). But I do walk heaps (loooove walking) so I will walk while you run if that's ok. :D And I will look forward to hearing about your success, everyone! You go, girls!

This is so exciting! I love chatting with you all. Does everyone have their goal? Is it to lose weight is it to get fit, is it to be active?
Mine is to lose weight and get myself moving instead of putting it off for another day.

I'm allergic to running, at the most I will only persuade myself to jog. :P
Someone has to be dying for me to run even 10m but in those 10m I can run pretty fast. LMAO

Running and jogging should be declared illegal. LMAO
NV, click on Profile and look through the options. The picture is done under Avatar. The comments under the user name are done on the Home page ... I think ...

Vik, click on "profile" up in the pink bar at the top of your page. The play with all the settings down the left of the page until you make it look how you want :) You can't break anything... cause I would have by now if it were possible!

LMAO Vik! Is that what happened to me? This week I have gone out and bought three things I never have in the house - chocolate - caramello,milk and dark - REAL cheese (be still my heart) and white bread. And devoured the bloody lot (but not all at once, haha).

The more the merrier I think. We are starting on 1st July. There is a link at the beginning of the thread which Sundance kindly started. I am glad you are all keen, I may need a little motivation every now and then. I currently have two jobs. one is my normal everyday work life, and then I have a paper-run that I do for extra cash. This starts at 5am in the morning, and I get very tired towards the end of the day when i will need to do the exercise. I think my motivation will be to think of all of you.

Hi, I'm pretty new to this board but was so excited when I found this thread!
I just finished the c25k and am going to attempt to run ( or walk - hopefully not!) my first 5k on July 23rd :blink:
I'm going to join this group because I need support and motivation to continue jogging. I don't say running because really I am jogging..lol
Plus I need to lose 35 lbs :P
Way to go Down 35,I'm into my second week of jogging tomorrow,I'm really enjoying it,hope iy helps me lose a few kg's too.keep it up!
