last week Maggie came running in here & i thought omg shes popped off but the smell stayed so i looked at her back end & she had poo hanging out her bum (poor darling) so DH says i will clean her up Di i thought (thank god) anyway next thing he's calling me into the laundry tubs he has her in a warm bath & can't get the poo off so he says to me "you will have to cut it off so i can bath her properly" omg i thought, i will spew, so i get the scissors & cut it off well next thing DH sings out " Di i think by the looks of her bottom it's her bowel thats hanging out" I'm in a panncik as i have just cut it off :( but after more research lol her bum was all puckered & a bit sore from where the poo was stuck . Honestly can you imagine how i felt thinking i had cut part of her bowel off ? i was in major pannick mode & was about to kill DH because he told me to cut it off .
So girls the moral to this story is .... never cut untill you are sure :yes:

PS - When my Soxy boy (long haired cat) was a wee kitten his bowl turned inside out when he was badly constipated. He was a sick laddy. (Before I owned him.) The vet stuck it back in with a thermometer and he mended and hasn't had a problem since. That's why I wanted him because he'd had a rough start and was sickly. The little fella adores me - not like the girls that will "get back to me later".

i remember lucky having the same thing. i think it was more that his hair would get long and would get stuck?! once in awhile his behind would be red and sore though. :dk: i always had to clean it and sometimes it wouldn't, so we'd cut it off too.
