i've noticed that my tummy is getting a bit bigger, now that i'm gaining some weight, so i started crunches yesterday. i remember being able to do a couple hundred when i was fit like it was nothing..plus with summer coming up, i want to be able to sit on the beach and not see rolls, LOL.
yesterday i did 100. i'm really not sure if that's too much to start off with. now my stomach is a bit sore and i think that's just normal for it to feel that way? and i was planning on doing 100 again today. any tips on what you do if you do crunches will help. :)
maybe barbara can help me too with this one! :hehe: i want my tummy toned, i don't want the whole ab look, but toned is nice. :) thanks in advance!

I-yi-yi Miss Kik!! 100 ... and you're a bit sore? If I did FIVE I reckon I couldn't walk! LMAO
Seriously though ... what about a work out with a hula hoop? Fun and fit at the same time.

LOL. i used to do 500-but i was like 15 and i think that's exceeding it a bit. i was really hardcore with jogging and working out when i was a cheerleader. my stomach is flat, don't get me wrong, but i want it to be toned and i hate when i sit and have rolls, lol.
will the hoola hoop help with getting my tummy toned though?! not sure about that..:dk:

Hula hoop is so much harder now than I remember it when I was a kid! LMAO
I haven't done crunches in too long.. since before I had DD but I used to do 200 with my knees up with one elbow going to the opposite knee and then the other elbow going to the other knee IYKWIM I really should get back into it again

Crunches are great  - Do some russian twists (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mHzVABv8OaU) as well - these are a fantastic core exercise that will definitely help and some reverse knees (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2s4N3PDoJLo&feature=related) (some people call them leg pull ins) (but you have to exercise and eat well to help lose your tummy - doing crunches by themselves won't do that much other than make your stomach strong).

thanks barbara. :) will definitely take a look at the links..do you recommend doing them everyday and how much a day is too much? or does that just depend on the person? i'm so sore today that i didn't do any! :hehe: will give it a go tomorrow again though. :)

Well I don't know....but I do the hula hoop game on the Wii and I can feel my tummy muscles working, not to mention tops of thighs and hips as well. :)

Kiki, I do an ab circuit everyday but I am used to the exercise (except on weekends - I give them a well deserved rest). I think to start with, maybe do them every second day until you get used to it, then it is up to you.
