Posessed Printer

My printer makes strange noises through out the day. Even when I am not on the computer.. Does anyone know why?. It sounds like it is setting up for a job, but I haven't sent anything over.. I am on the computer late at night, and it always makes me jump. I should be use to it by now.

A couple of weeks ago mine wouldn't work. My daughter (computer person and one of her friends also a computer person) did everything she/they knew how to with my printer. They tried everything!!!!! Then gave up. Said to throw it away and get a new one. Like I've got the money to do that for the little bit of printing that I do.

Well, about 5 days ago, I decided to try to print something. Surprise surprise, it's working again. There you go. Mind of it's own. I'm not complaining because as far as I know it's still working.

Also, this one will occasionally make a noise like it's going to start printing, scares me, then goes quiet again.

I think yours and mine must be related.

I think they are just letting us know that they are still there...we do kinda forget about them and then when we want a job done they have to jump to command! Be nice to your printer...go on give it a hug....We bought a new one this week...so I am just going to give it a little dust now.....

Patricia - you are so funny. I dust mine all the time and never swear at it, I'm always nice to it, yes, I do ignore it sometimes, but I don't think that's any reason to chuck a spakky when I need it.

I had one do that as well. I'm not sure why it did it. After a while I got tired of hearing it so I just kept it unpluged.

I refuse to own a printer. They just seem to be one of those things that can never, ever work they way they are suppose to.
