I am sooooo excited!!!!!!
Naga (Kylie) just rang me and said she and her partner have found some Gluten Free foods. She was telling me what they were then................she said Lamingtons!!!!! Lamingtons!!!!!!!
It's been over 4 years since I've eaten a lamington. 4 years people. I love lamingtons.
I know, you're saying, why don't you make your own. Do you know how many lamingtons I would have to make to eat all by myself!! Not worth the effort.
Yippee!!!! Lamingtons!!!!!!!!
OK. I feel better now. :d: :d:

Yes, but I'm not fussed on Muffins. Lamingtons I was addicted to. I'm not really a sweet eater so when I come across something that I really love and it's Gluten Free I just get so excited!!!

Kylie just delivered them to me. There are six in the pack. She said that she had accidently trod on them but it hadn't made a dent in them, then she handed them to me. LMAO
HEAVY!!!!! I just looked at the weight - 338gms! Yep, nice light, fluffy lamingtons.:D
I'm not whinging really. I'm so used to GF cakes etc being heavy enough to be used by weight lifters.
What I'm going to do is make some GF custard (yes you can get it) and make it into a dessert. GF products are very dry too.
I will let you know how they go.
It's so nice to look at them and think, I can eat that!!!

Enjoy your lammos Bev. Where did Kylie find them?
We were discussing lamingtons on another women's forum (http://www.afteryourwedding.org/phpBB2/) I'm on; some like to eat them all soggy with milk - like breakfast cereal!

Mejane you are one sick little puppy! Yuck!!!! Nice, light, fluffy lamingtons! How could you??!!!!
Believe it or not she found them at Malouf's Pharmacy!!!!! Go figure! They were $7.99 for 6 small ones. I don't mind the price (much), it's either that or go without.

Bev if you are ever in Melbourne there is a bakery in Mt Waverley called Uncle Bucks and ..... wait for it its all gluten free.
lamingtons (they even do the red sort as well)
lemon tart
sausage rolls
pies et etc
Its just next door the the psciliac??? association for Vic.
Next door to the association and bakery is a fish and chip shop and they even do gluten free fish and chips! lol
Now, I know you don't live in Melbourne, and i dont want to tease you. So here is the best kept secret.
if you cant be bothered to make a gluten free cake from scratch try the Basco butter cake packet mix. it is so yum!!! The chocolate one is crap like a donkey (to paraphrase my 7 year old nephew).

Dr Dolly.
Thank you for all of that information that DID NOT TEASE ME!!!!
Yes it did.
There is a Celiac's Society in Brisbane but no Gluten Free shops like that.
It all sounds delicious. I never liked pies of sausage rolls much when I could eat them, now that I can't, I want one. Weird!!
My mother is a really, really good person and she spoils me, so I've tried the Basco butter cake. The only trouble is, there is only me to eat it. It takes a l o n g time to eat a whole cake on my own.
Mum also makes a Banana & Walnut Cake for me. I cut it into meal size portions and freeze it, then when I want some I just microwave it for a few seconds. It's really nice.
Thanks for letting me know all of that.
crap like a donkey Where do the kids get these sayings. That one is funny though.

Here is a website for youe Beverly.
http://www.glutenfree.com/recipes.htm
This is Bev's daughter ... thank you for your kind words and recipes for Mum. She's gone from being able to eat anything and everything to having to eat tasteless, expensive foods.
She was very excited to finally eat Lamingtons again :) It was good to see her face light up when I gave them to her :) I always look for GF foods for her when I can.
Thanks again.

Thanks Gina. Will try that one.
Thanks Kylie. Yes I could eat anything and everything couldn't I. I remember those days. Glad I took advantage while I could.
Not everything is tasteless!!! Just most of it. And you forgot to mention that I'm now a very strong person because I have to lift a loaf of GF bread every day. LOL.
Anyone reading this, when you're at the supermarket the next time, find a loaf of Gluten Free bread and pick it up. Be careful though, you have to be strong. It's small........but it's heavy!!!
