Those poor family members of the 3 men trapped in the mine after the earthquake. 7.30am today 1 body discovered & they are searching for the other 2. My heart goes out to them.

My hubby woks in an open pit mine, years ago he did work underground but only lasted 3 weeks as I was a nervous wreak worrying about him & he didnt like it either. My Dad works underground & I worry about him all the time.

yes i heard about this a couple of days ago and with all the trappings in mines you usually know the outcome and it's not a good one, they should make things as safe as possible for those guys who go down there.

On the radio this morning they were saying that they are unsure if it will be viable to keep this mine operating in the future.

These accidents are devestating for little communities in more ways than one.

Helen they do make it as safe as possible for them its just a risk you take like any job. Like I said my hubby works in an open pit mine & they have dangers of their own I know he has told me when he nearly went over the edge in the excavator once.

I'm from Tassie, it's such a devastating thing to happen. I did hear that it was caused by an earth tremor.

The community will take the loss of life so very hard as nearly everyone would know someone that works at the mines.

It will be such a sad time for Tassie, this heartache will be followed so closely by the 10th anniversary of the Port Arthur tragedy.

there seems to be a lot of tragedies around for australia at the moment, I feel for all involved. My hubby works on the road and comes home and says "I made it through I'm home safe" people don't stop or slow down just because the sigh says so. I would not want to go through what the families of the miners are going through

One of my uncle's does mining up near Blackwater, I think one of his kids does too actually. They rake in some good cash for that but it would be sooo scary. I don't think I could handle a close family member doing it

This is just terrible

I was watching it earlier this morning on the news. My heart goes out to the families and to the men who are trapped.

What ended up happening to these poor guys?

Just the thought of being 1km under ground makes me sick. I too don't think i could handle a relative doing it.

Those poor families :(

I know they were able to get one body out but I think the rest are still trapped :(
