themselves, their men, (or other men) or other women?
What about you, who do you dress for?

I dress for comfort at the moment - so that's for no-one in particular LMAO But, I'd normally dress for me. I'd love for hubby to be happy, but we have such incredibly different tastes that it doesn't happen very often :hehe:
Normally women dress for women - but why? Because women (mostly) design the clothes, sell the clothes, your friends are women and they give you advice on clothes. If we're to dress for men then I'm sure lingerie would be the main stay. LOL. Do you ever think to yourself; hmmm, if I wear this top Gary/Bruce/Bob will say it doesn't match?
I dress for me within my subcultural links. I 99.99% of my clothes are black. I don't wear skirts or colour which removes women from my catergorisation; I don't wear heels which removes men from my catergorisation nor do I wear whale-net stockings which removes my BF.

Actually Maliss, I don't wear purple because hubby hates it (who knows why...).
We should swap men; mine loves purple but I refuse to wear it:hehe:

I have a massive heart-on for jeans.
Oh, you have babies - my boy is clucky as a mother hen.
Swap is on! hehehe

Generally women dress for other women. This is all about competition. It is other women you're competing with for resources.

I'm not convinced we dress for women either... I'd rather a guy think I looked good than a girl be envious, but perhaps that's not the norm...

I dress for me. DH always comments on my clothes though and tells me if he really doesn't like something - which is not often! He hates trackie dacks but that's what I love slouching in after wearing corporate wear all day AND heels.

I dress myself according to what I plan on doing for the day. If I'm going to work, it's a uniform. If I'm going to the shops, it's whatever I feel comfortable wearing. Going out for the night, I will wear what I am comfortable in providing I feel it meets the occasion. I've never even given it a thought as to how others will view the way I dress. :dk:

I mostly dress to suit myself I'll ask my hubby or my d.d,s opinion but I usually pick what I like, wear pants most of the time black pants and my work shirt when I'm working, summer 3/4 pants and a nice top, sometimes in the hot weather I wear a dress or a skirt, at home tracky daks and jumpers and t. shirts, like to dress up when I go anywhere.

I dress comfortably most days, if I'm going out I'll dress up nicely to make myself feel good, and hopefully get a few eyes looking my way.

Remember that adage, "Less is Best"
Did that just apply to makeup, or did that apply to clothes as well?
And...good point Jenniwren - about women, dressing for women, because they're competing for resources!
Do women also dress so other men and other women will look at them and not challenge them to their man?
And I wonder, do women dress so other men admire them, so their man will appreciate what he has, to keep him on his toes?
Do you think it's all quite primeval?
Mankind likes to think they're above their instincts, but do you think they are actually just sitting there, under the surface?
It's interesting eh..I know, I know, I'm asking lots of questions! Next! The MAN Question! LMAO Watch this space! LMAO

I know my DH likes me to look really nice. Maybe its a male ego thing.

I dress for myself.I prefer to be in comfy everyday casual clothing like 3/4 leggings, cargo pants with a nice sort of t shirt/polo on top.I'm not into fashion like wearing the latest thing either.
Do women also dress so other men and other women will look at them and not challenge them to their man?
No,I don't feel I need to do this at all.
And I wonder, do women dress so other men admire them, so their man will appreciate what he has, to keep him on his toes?
I will admit when I go out to a nice restaurant or somewhere,I dress much nicer than usual and its for me and my man.Its just an added bonus if other men look twice at me.But when that happens its really nice.My man has noticed on a few occasions other men looking at me & he doesn't mind one bit.I think he is kind of chuffed really.:)

I dress for men, dont give 2 shits what women think LMAO I do wear alot of low cut tops, ( but i do have what it takes to fill them out) LMAO.. My HUbby sums it up perfect,,, if u feel comfy in somthing and (not worried about it being to tight across the tummy etc,, then u will show it and u will look fantatic as long as u feel comforatable in it.. how true... the reeason I say this is...
about 6 weeks ago got a new dress put it on and was like WOWWW this looks great,, pranced around went out in it ohh thats right it was Fathers Day.. anhow he said how beautiful i looked..
THEN>>
2 weeks ago was getting ready for a wedding and wore that same dress, ( that time of month) mood swings, walked out and said OHHH FOR ****S SAKE i am not going to the wedding I look so fat in this I look pregnant BLAH BLAH BLAH,, just kept ranting.. LMAO, Then i said does it look ok he said it is fine.. NOT OH YEAH BABE LOOKS GREAT ETC ETC.. just FINE... So that was it me having a hissy fit, then I realised if i had of come out like that first time I would have looked better as u have to be comfy in it to start with.. Gee my Hubby is so wise...

I'm still not sure who I dress for...who knows. Probably for the occasion.
At home I wear comfy clothes, but they vary, depending on the weather, and how I feel..for the gym I wear gym clothes and for casual I wear jeans and tops, boots and jackets.
When I dress for work, I always wear pants or a skirt and a blouse and a jacket, because it's professional and it's what is expected. I always wear accessories, a necklace I love, or a colourful scarf, or earrings... I love boots. I don't wear stilettos to work, it's just not practical.
When I dress to go out to a party, or to dinner, or with friends, I love to wear soft, flowing and creative, drapy feminine clothes... And I like unique clothes that have a uneven look, with lots of layers and different fabrics..A hippy from way back! :D
I dress for men, dont give 2 shits what women think LMAO I do wear alot of low cut tops, ( but i do have what it takes to fill them out) LMAO...
I don't dress low cut or plunging, but then, I don't have what it takes to do so!! LMAO

lol J as the saying goes if u got it flaunt it LMAO
i dress for me, for comfort.. when i have a husband who never seems to notice anyway, or when asked says 'yeah you look ok' there's no point in trying. besides, i am still too fat to dress for any other reason. just the other day i had to talk to a neighbour and she asked if i was hoping for a boy or a girl. i give up.
